On the 211 the support bracket mounts to the center platform support. You need to pull the starboard ballast tank, remove the bolts on the center platform support, bolt up the bracket then mount the FAE. It requires no drilling in the hull, it is completely removable leaving no trace of ever being installed in the event you don't like it. It does not interfere with the hydrogate at all, about 1/2" form the gate at the closest point. I pushed Larry to keep it pretty close, I am very happy with the results.

I notice no difference in any of the wakes. I notice no difference in the performance of the boat, I don't even notice a loss of speed on top, maybe 1 or 2 but that's within the normal load/wind variables anyway. I notice no difference in the operation of the hydrogate.

At slalom speed it throws a small V spray no higher or wider than the spray coming off the hull itself, I don't notice any difference in the wake. That may be a different story on a 206/196 that have such small slalom wakes.

My nephew even thinks it looks kind of cool...

Im assuming the only difference is when the boat is in gear/ moving. If your sitting on the platform putting on the wakeboard, the exhaust is still coming up if your not moving.

I think its a great Idea for us surfers.

Yes, exhaust still bubbles up through the platform when the boat is completely still. If you are putting your board on you can bump it in gear a few times and it will pull the exhause fumes down river.

We surfed for hours yesterday, it was so nice to have a completely clear head, I didn't realize how many fumes I was previously sucking while surfing.

I totally agree that the FAE is worth every penny. I installed mine over the winter on my Crossover 236 and it has noticably reduced/eliminated fumes and quieted the boat down. I find the worst spot in terms of fume inhalation is when you are acting as "ballast" and sitting on the back corner sundeck... the FAE helped a lot. I highly recomend the product.

Any idea when they're going to make the exhaust mounting look a little less industrial and a little more like it was designed for the boat? Plenty of 211s out there, seems like it wouldn't be that big of a deal to make a custom bracket for it.

Also, how does the exhaust look in relation to the trailer when it's on there? No clearance issues I assume?
