220, any underpowered experiences with 330hp?

Hi - I'm looking at a 220 with the 5.7l engine. Took it out, seemed like plenty of power but we only had 700lbs of people in the boat.

If this thing is loaded to capacity with full ballast am I going to need to re-prop to get out of the hole?

Does anyone know what the stock prop is on a 220 with the small engine?

yes you will want to reprop it. i have the zr6 and it was a pig when we slammed it. put the new power prop on it and it and it pulls like a train.

ZR-6 MAN!!!! dont do that excalibur BIG MISTAKE!, i have 50 hours under my belt with the ZR-6 220 and full ballast a 4 adults it still seems to just barely get out of the hole, if you have to do the 5.7, re prop it

Thanks for the help. Bought a 220 with the ZR6 last weekend. The dealer had one of each - same color. I test drove the 330 and thought it was fine, but ended up buying the larger engine just in case. Now I just need to learn how to wakeboard...
