    hesitation after winterization

Have 2000 SNOB 5.8 GT40 700 hours- ran perfectly last fall. Did plug, cap rotor and wire change this winter just as maintenance. Now I notice a hesitation at 2200 rpm and submaximal performance. Top rpm is only 4400 and top speed is only 38-39 and engine just does not sound right. Nothing leaking nothing obvious. My temp gauge is pagged all the way beyond 260 degrees at start-up probably secondary to a short. I can fix that but I have no idea about the hesitation and misfires. I did use Stabil in the gas and always winterize the boat - never had this trouble before :?: It starts perfectly and will rev just fine. Where do I start ? Thanks

Sometimes the gas just gets weak or it's the stabil burning through the system. Try an add new gas to top off the tank and see if that helps with the hesitation.

thank you - I will try that. Do you recommend fuel injector cleaner or is it harmful to the fuel cells and water seperators.

I can't speak to the fuel injector cleaners, but I bet it's as simple as old gas as said above. So get the fresh gas, and check your fuel filter - if you have a water separating filter, check that for water or just change it.
How 'bout a little reverse action...
