Couldn't agree more. By the way, I have been dealing with Correct Craft directly, as there really isn't a "dealer" in Hawaii. Hawaii is unique in that it is a very small market that does not have real ski boat dealers. There are no showrooms in Hawaii that have CC, MC, BU, etc. There are no repair facilities that can handle modern ski boats either, at least not that I have been able to find. So, when you buy a boat in Hawaii from CC, MC, MB, Bu, etc., you are pretty much stuck with dealing with the manufacturer directly on all warranty issues, as there is no "dealer" with a "repair facility" do accommodate warranty repairs.

I was actually shocked when I started dealing with CC directly. In fact, I had to write a letter as a result of being treated extremely bad by a receptionist that used to screen calls for the boss. I got a "sorry" and "we won't let it happen again" response from the boss, but I still didn't get that ultimate customer service that I was expecting out of CC. I can go on for pages and pages about how bad their customer service was for me, from non-authorized credit card transactions, to sending me the wrong parts, to sending parts to the wrong address, to total abandonment on major mechanical issues. Don't get me wrong, CC makes a great boat, but I think that a lot of people are drunk from all the CC Kool-Aid they have been drinking and can't see reality.

I still have some warranty issues (separate from the manifold issue) that have not been repaired properly, so I hope CC steps-up and delivers the customer service that I was expecting when I plunked down the $$ to get a CC.

Oh yea, I was actually told by CC directly that I should have known that I would be "on my own" when I bought a Nautique for use in Hawaii. I wish they would have told me this BEFORE I bought the boat, I would have asked for a big discount, as the warranty holds little value if your "on your own". :???:

Not a good story. You need to get to the boss's boss. This is NOT how they do business

"drunk on CC kool-aid" that cracks me up! i couldnt agree more with the way you feal and what you have said.
this is no small problem you can and will blow a motor with that kind of a leak on the inside of a riser.
What is CC/PCM official stand on warranty. i know for a fact if you take an Indmar engine in salt your done warranty void while on the other hand Tiges Marine power will warranty the eng. if used in salt even w/o closed coolong sys. but to be honest i dont know PCMs stand curious if someone could fill me in.
I dont have any Z06 that run in salt but i do work on some gt40 and excalab. that do. they do go through exhaust manifolds and starters pretty regular. but these boats are out of warranty. 97-03 mainly. but none of them are going through them in 20 hrs. thats insane! good luck on getting your boat fixed. i would keep climbing the ladder until someone makes it right. (shouldnt have to be like that though).Where is old bill at he reads these message boards whats is say on this deal? i would like to hear what he has to say.

RE: Re: RE: Who uses a ZR6 in Salt Water?

Who did you buy the boat from? A dealer. Who did the dealer buy it from? Correct Craft. Who did Correct Craft buy the engines from? PCM.

Who did you pay for the boat? The Dealer. Correct Craft didnt take your money, the dealer did. PCM didnt take your money the dealer did.

Sounds like the dealer needs to earn his $... I know it is a PCM issue, but CC should support their dealer....

Uhh....How do you know who got paid what??? As a matter of fact, I did pay Correct Craft directly. Like I said before, there is no official "Dealer" in Hawaii. So...I guess it's time for CORRECT CRAFT to earn their $

                UPDATE

Got a call from the "Boss" on Friday! He said he will call PCM directly and see what they can come up with. I got my fingers crossed! I'll let you all know how it plays out.

GOOD NEWS!!! Correct Craft spoke with PCM about my issues and, even though my Engine Warranty is expired, they are sending me a complete set of new manifolds at no cost! They are assembling the manifolds and risers at PCM to ensure they are mated properly and per specs. I will pay to have the manifolds installed, which is very fair in my opinion. I'm working on the other warranty issues as well, and I feel confident that they will be handled fairly and professionally. My faith in Correct Craft is being restored! I'm stoked, because I really do love my 211.

No comment from PCM on the cause. Correct Craft did remind me to flush the engine/manifolds after each use, but I had already been doing that religiously. CC also instructed me to inspect the manifolds and risers for leaks after each use, and if a leak is found immediately fix the problem. I asked CC to see if PCM had any recommendations for flushing the engine/manifolds, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I also asked if PCM had torque specs for the riser and manifold nuts, that way if there is a leak noticed I can check the torque. I'll ask CC if PCM had mentioned if the ZR6 has had any ongoing problems similar to mine.

Can you post a picture of the hard to reach bolts? I was wondering if a crows-foot or O2 senser "type" socket wrench might work with a torque wrench.

Torque is probably fairly critical on this application....no matter what many may think.
