    Zero off

Does anybody have the 2008 210 with the power prop, and notice a surge when crossing wakes? I have noticed that when towing a rider and cross wakes from other boats or on turn arounds that the boat surges forward and back, it's almost like it has so much torque that is lunges forward when the boat accelerates.

I have an 08 210 with an Acme 1465 power prop but have not had it in the water yet. I had the same prop on my 07 210 and didn't notice anything like that. I can let you know what I come up with with in the next week or so when I get my boat out. Just give me a PM if you don't here from me incase I forget.

I also had a 2007 with wakeboard pro (Purfect Pass) and with the team prop and it was as steady as a rock, never had any surge.

I had my boat out today and noticed the same problem. I have never ran it with the stock prop but if this is how zero off is going to be with a power prop I'd rather have perfect pass. I did notice that it only seemed to do it when I was crossing rollers not sharp crisp wakes. I started playing with the hydrogate and it seem to help smooth out quicker if I would move the lever up to 1 and then switch it back to 3 after crossing the wakes. If anyone has any help with this please let us know. I hope zero off has a software update for this because it is a nuisence.

          RE: Zero off

At Correct Craft Inc., we also noticed the surging as we tested initial ZeroOff installations and began investigating. We plotted actual boat speed relative to the earth and found that it was essentially constant even though we could feel the ‘surge’. We quickly concluded that ZeroOff was simply doing its job. If the throttle is not adjusted during wake crossings, boat speed will decrease as the boat climbs the wake and increase as it descends.

No speed control for wake sports boats, before ZeroOff, has been able to respond quickly enough to maintain constant speed during wake crossings. ZeroOff, on the other hand, utilizes quicker than normal (five times per second) GPS updates and input from internal inertial sensing hardware to calculate the boat speed many times per second resulting in a boat that maintains a much more constant speed relative to the earth than possible before.

What does this mean in the end; simply a better ride for the person at the end of the rope! Those in the boat may notice the speed control doing its job but the rider won’t.

Well you are wrong, the rider is feeling it and this weekend the boat actually felt that it was going to stop and the rider (my son) had a look on his face like what are you doing. We feel it in the boat and the rider feels it also.

Skiboate, you must be at the factory. So what are we to do now. This is a promo boat that we have and we start pulling at all the North Carolina INT tour stops, the first tournament is the last weekend of May.

I can tell you that the Perfect Pass on our 2007 was as steady as a rock no surge what so ever. Now on smooth water is seems to not be noticeable, until when we turn around and come back across our wake.

Talked with my selling dealer today and he spoke with the factory and they have a part coming to see if it will repair the surge. Will keep you informed if it fixes it.

Please let me know if it fixes the problem. I have only been out once but am worried my dealer won't be able to help since they are going to close business.

Surge is fixed, thanks to HQ Marine, Correct Craft, problem fixed first time and Zero off is working great and steady as a rock.

I too have an 08 Zero Off on my 210 and I notice slight surges as well. Cakirk2004, how was your GPS fixed? Was it a hardware fix or a software fix? Please be specific if you can because I recently lost my local CC dealer.

How did they fix this? My dealer said he had never heard of the issue?

I was using zero off and hit rollers for the first time this weekend. We had a big surge. It felt like the but sped up 10mph. The skiier about sh$t themselves.
