I finally did it. 230 on the way!

Howdy, ya'll. Thought I would start off on the boards here by saying I finally ordered a new 230 after pretty much wearing out all the boat dealers around the area. Tested all the ones in the 230's range (X-35, 23LSV, etc.,.) and I just like the 230.........best.

I know these threads must show up a lot and they maybe a little boring, but hey, I can't help as it I'm stoked.

I'll post pics if anyone wants to see when it shows up in a month or so.

Hey, that's what I was thinking you would like about me, too! Thanks for the hearty welcome. Buying through KYS (Kentuckiana Yacht Sales) in Louisville, KY (Jeffersonville, In) area. Separated by the Ohio River. CC is a developing line for them as they are a yacht builder.

Looking forward to the boat. My boys (5 and 12) are excited, to put it mildly. I thought they would jump thru their skins when they got on their first test ride. Daddy wants to play, too. Later.

I am from that area of Southern Indiana...and still have family down in Sellersburg and Lanseville. We drag the boat down that way a couple times a year. Taylorsville Lake, or up in Austin...or Patoka.

Where you gonna do your boating?

Cool. Let's see, I'll be on the river and Taylorsville and Dale Hollow and Cumberland. Prolly mostly on the river and Tay unless I make a 2-3 day trip of it. What's the word on Patoka?

Patoka was OK....I've really only been there a couple times. Once was on a weekend and it was very busy. I would to get another trip down there and really check out the whole lake. Was hoping you might have some insight.

Curious about the Ohio River....do you find any issues with boating on that dude? Seems to be really muddy most of the time?

Getting the 6.0 motor.

I'm not an Ohio River expert but we like the area around the islands upstream of Louisville. I also want to try the ramp at Leavenworth, I hear the river is good over there. Springtime is a bit messy with debris but it rapidly clears up and improves as the summer progresses and it has lots of docks/restaurants to tie up to and refresh. It can be hit or miss tho with weather and clarity and debris. Lemme hook you up with a linky to a website a guy I know set up. Might be a little useful. www.portky.com

I am a little torn on the Factory speakers for the tower. I have opted for some HUGE Wetsounds for the tower instead of the 4 factory tower speakers. Price is the same but what's the consensus on doing that? Cool move or is it going to be not so cool? I don't intend to annoy folks with them but on certain days when skiing and I have the river/lake to myself............ it wouldn't be bad to hear a little Metallica.
