I am picking up my '08 Air 216 from the dealer on Friday. Those of you that have purchased a brand new boat..was a battery installed? did the dealer fill it with gas? were you able to drop her in the water and go? I have never purchased a brand new boat and it was never discussed with my dealer. Thanks for the input.

RE: What did your dealer provide you with?
at our marina we include full tank of gas, full coast guard kit (everything to make you legal out on the water), boat fully prepped and in the water for a water demonstration. We make sure we go over every single function for you and make sure you are fully comfortable. Normally the dealer has to follow a checklist as per Correct Craft. Congrats. Show some pictures when you get her!

RE: What did your dealer provide you with?
I have purchased several. My 2003 came from Ohio back when Mid-Ohio Nautiques was in business, and yes, it came with batteries, full gas, and ready to roll. I know things didn't end up working out for Mid-Ohio, but they treated me well when I bought from them. Last year I bought a 236 from another dealer. It did not have a full tank, and there were a few other issues, but it was water-ready. This year when I picked up my 230, it had an almost-full tank, all batteries, and was water-ready.
Bottom line - Your dealer should give you a water-ready boat. Most will even deliver it on the water if you prefer, and will show you how to operate it properly.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

RE: What did your dealer provide you with?
We received a complete walk-thru of all features in the shop. Then a water test with more running thru of the features like the ballast and perfect pass. The boat had a full tank of gas....battery connected....and it was ready to go when we left the dealer. We also received all the literature for the boat and it's components as well as some water safety information.
We didn't receive any life jackets or anything like that....we did get a couple of nifty mooring lines with our dealers name....a parting gift I suppose.
And lastly....we received the ever-important updated stickers for our car windows.....those are a must don't ya know....88 Ski Nautique

RE: What did your dealer provide you with?
I received my 1998 Ski new from the dealer when he had only been in business for one year. Ken Blackmon (now at Ryan Creek Boating Center, Crane Hill Alabama) formerly owned North Alabama Nautiques. He delivered the new Ski Nautiqe to my boat dock with full tank and switched all my gear from the old 1997 Ski and put everything in place where i had it in my old boat, only neater in the new one.
That is the coolest delvery I ever had with my dealer. I bought steaks and grilled out later to thank him.
The last new one was delivered by the dealer to me half way from my home. He has also given me outstanding response as he called me a few days after I got home with the 220 and he has followed up since. And, he has sent warranty'd parts ASAP with no questions or problems.
I prefer to get to know the dealer I am dealing with so that things work smoother.
Of the 5 brand new ones I have bought from dealers, They are all great experiences.

My boat was water ready. It had a full tank, but was later given the bill for the gas. I was offered the water demo but since I had already demoed the boat I elected not to take it.

It must all depend on the dealer, I assumed that Correct Craft had a policy that they all followed. For 30 years of dealing with Conneaut Lake Navigation Company, they always went the extra mile. Full tank of gas, the boats were always water tested and if there was a problem, I'm sure it was solved long before we took possession of the boat. I really can't say enough about the DeVoge family and the service they provide. Unfortunately they stopped selling Correct Craft and we just couldn't own anything else. So we got to experience another dealer. Our local dealer is now in Ohio and they are really a volume dealer. My son calls them the Wal-Mart of boat dealers. Four other boat buyers were taking delivery at the same time. Nice people, but way under staffed. There was barely a splash of gas in the tank, no review of anything dealing with the boat or trailer. The boat was certainly not water tested or they would have found the obvious problem that we incurred on our first trip in our new Nautique. That's a whole different issue. We are still waiting for paperwork to title the trailer. If you want some advise, no matter how many boats you have owned, insist on a water test in your new boat, make yourself a check list and review it with your dealer before you leave. It can really save time and aggravation later. Every dealer is different, but no matter how much you love what your buying, you can still find some disappointment. I picked her up over the weekend and the dealer provided me with a list of all the checks they went through before I got there, 1/4 tank of gas, insisted I take it for a test drive, and help hooking up the trailer to my truck. They were courteous but the only words I heard from my salesman was "I'm sorry but I screwed up your tax, you actually owe us more" and then never saw him again. I would think that a salesman would be right there every step of the way to make sure things are how I ordered. A little disappointing but I love my boat except I noticed two spots (on tower & lift ring) that didn't appear to get coated. There is also 1 1" scratch in front of the drivers window. I am going to take some pics and send them to CC.'18 SAN 210 Reef Blue/Admiral Blue Metal Flake

I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure it is required by law that a dealer must include at least the Coast Guard kit and fire extinguisher. Everything else can be negotiated. When you're dropping $60K on a boat, getting them to throw in a few hundred dollars worth of extras should never be an issue.2003 SANTE
