I want to oder a bimini. Any advice?

    Hi there,

I want to oder a bimini. Any advice?

Tower biminis made me a quote.

Have a cream white/red stripe, SAN2003 with a black tower.
So black hood fabric seems nice to me.

    Polished frame and
    polished metal fittings.

    Any further tips?
    Some spare parts?

Besides the nice optics is there a disadvantage on the black color? Heat transfer or less durable.

Classic under the tower mounted is my favorite optic and seems also more protective to me, true?

Does a under the tower interfear with the boardracks, less handeling.

Any pics of a 2003 with an above the tower type?

    Thanks
    Jos

    jos,
The black won't make a bit of difference - the bimini is so far above you that unless you decide to climb on it you will never know it's black. I personally went with Tower Biminis over the tower bimini, it provides the same coverage as my old under the tower bimini plus it folds up neatly on the front of the tower and I never hit my head on it. My under tower bimini was too low considering that it had to be mounted under the tower speakers. But over or under it's just personal preference.

Any pics, of an "over" the tower mounted, with this classic type of tower 02' or 03' ?

        jos,
Towerbiminis.com has a bunch of pics of Nautiques with both under and over tower biminis (I not affiliated with Towerbiminis - but I know exactly what you are going through - I went back and forth for a month before ordering my new bimini). Here's a couple of pics from their website - the black and red one is what I have.

personally, i think under the tower looks better, but JMHO.

plus the lower the bimini the more precise shade.

                Didn't decide yet.
                When the under the tower.
How is the handling in relation to the boards and the boardracks.
Should you be a monkey to get the bungee cords over the boards.
On pics the bimini rails look very close to the racks.
