Has anyone ever put a through hull(scoop) towards the back of there SS.Just in front of the engine? Is this to far back?Im having some design issues with my fatsac idea,i wanted to put it in the middle, but my goodness, there is all kind of crap in the way.I might try and squeeze it between the gas tank and trans. You guys got any pictures i sure do appreciate it,I only want to drill 1 hole!!!!lol

I mounted mine on the port side directly opposite of the intake for the engine. This puts the hole between the gas tank and the v-drive. I was able to get the ball valve in also. However since the ball valve was next to the v-drive I had to modify the handle a bit to get full range of motion that was easy to access. I ran hose from the valve under the motor mounts to the transom and mounted the pumps and in the area near the port side of the rudder.
If you plan on installing Perfect Pass or already have it make sure you have enough room to mount the paddle wheel. The paddle wheel will take up about a 2.5" diameter space. Offset the holes so the turbulence from both thru hulls dont interfere with each other.
When you get all your plumbing parts fit them together (loosly) and place them in the bilge to check for clearences. Make sure you do this because there is not much room and you only want to drill once.
Sorry I dont have pics. I have sold that boat already. However, I was very happy with the way all the plumbing worked out.

Batman,do you have any problems with the through hulls so far back, that is exactly were i wanted to put them ,but was concerned that it would leave a contrail behind the boat.I ended up putting mine inbetween the v-drive and the gas tank.My first choice was were batman put his, just seemed easier .Thanks for the response guys ,I did search the subject ,however the search engine or me was messing up,I cant seem to search anything on the forumns without getting a ton of results no even relating to what i typed in the search field.I was trying to research it but i have failed

I put the thru hulls in that way so that it did not force water in after it was already full. Honestly they make a flat thru hull which I would use if I were doing it over. It was the best place in my opinion because the pumps and valves could stand up freely and I could run the hose exactly where I wanted. I did not have any noticeable change in water flow because it was far enough in from rear. I recomend putting pumps in rear to keep from interfearing with Perfect Pass which I put across from fresh water intake. Attached is link to flat thru hulls. Good Luck and if I can help in anyway please ask.
