How can you compare a price on a new Nautique? What is the % off list that is fair?

I just purchased a new 211 Team with the works. The list was $68,000 w/ trailer and my cost ended up $57-58K. As far as I have heard 10-15 % is about as good as it gets as far discount goes.
I am interested to hear from others, though, Just in case I'm a sucker!?!

I got a SV-211 Limited and have everything a Team has except the ballest tanks for more than 10 K less than you gave for yours Airnautique211.Life is Short, Live it!

Why is it dangerous? Priceing shouldn't be some kind of secret.Life is Short, Live it!

I agree, pricing should not be a secret.... I did a TON of research on pricing before I bought my boat, but people are much more likely to give you their opinion if e-mailed. For the most part, there was a person on Wakeworld who I had respect for their opinion, they had a SAN and I picked his brain as far as pricing and options.
Agree, 15% off is a good deal in my opinion and a GREAT deal when buying in the Summer months.
Another thing is area.... Dealers get allotments of boats. If they can sell every boat they get with little to no problem...the chances of getting a great deal on one of their boats is small.
Best deal going, find a leftover 2003 that a dealer is trying to dump cheap.

I think if everyone posted what they paid for their new Nautique there would be a lot of dissapointments and "visits back to their dealer."
Some customers get better deals than others... it's as simple as that. But if I was to find out that someone else payed 10K less for the same boat I got, I'd be pretty dissapointed, I have to admit.
And even if we don't care so much about what others paid, the dealers may.... I'm sure a dealer would be "imbarrassed," to say the least, if he saw one of his customers say to another customer that he got his boat for a couple K less.
I'm not against price researching, but we just wanna make sure that we don't get on a dealers' bad side, especially before you even get your boat! :lol:I Nautique, therefore I am.

I agree that we have the right, and should exorsize the rith to keep each other informed about the costs of boats. I loved it when the internet allowed people to know the actual costs on cars. I wish there was the same thing for boats. Alas, the manufacturers don't want us to know because the prices fluctuate wildly between summer and winter. Supply and demand.
If a dealer is embarred that a customer finds out that they were ripped off, then maybee that dealer should not rip off their customers.
I am sure that I paid a few thousand more than I could have if I had negotiated more, but I am happy with what I paid, the dealer is happy, and that is all that matters. To be honest, i don't even remember the exact number now, it was almost two years ago. I am sure it was between $45 and $55 K. That is for a nearly loaded '02 SANTE in October of '02.
If you want to keep what you paid a secret, go ahead, but don't tell other that it is a bad idea to share info. Especially under the guise that it might hurt a dealer's feelsing, give me a break!
BTW, where can we find independently publised MSRP pricing for Nautiques for base price and options?

Did not know I would hit such a sensitive thread... Just wanted to have some way to compare my deal and build confidence that 10-12% off list is fair for everyone involved. I know the dealer needs a fair profit to exist and provide outstanding customer service. I want Correct Craft to continue to be the ultimate leader in this industry. However, when I spend more on my boat than my cars, and have been burned badly on a home before, you just want to be sure... Thanks for the feedback.

Whether you paid a little or a lot, if you piss off your dealer, how do you think he's gonna treat you when you need service? Aren't you trying to build a positive relationship with your dealer? Why would you wanna hurt him? After all, hes gonna be the guy I need when I'm stuck with a dead boat on the water.
Maybe it's not the dealer ripping a guy off, but the opposite, a dealer giving a guy too good a deal would make all his other customers unhappy... then what would the dealer do???
Again, not saying that sharing prices is bad, I think its a great idea. Maybe something that should be done a little more privately oppose to online where anyone and everyone can read it. All I'm saying is to just be careful. Nautiques are expensive and I'm sure there are many cases when people are upgrading from Mobius's, I/Os, etc... and price is a big thing for them and they're going all out to afford a CC. If they found out that they could have saved 5K, and their dealer found out that they knew that they could have saved 5K, that would be pretty bad.I Nautique, therefore I am.
