    CO poisoning question

    Is CO poisoning from surfing possible (like from teak surfing) ?

      Teak surfing is dangerous, and people have already died from it. The CO does not necessarily kill you, but when you go unconscious, and attempt to breath with your face in the water, you drowned.

        I agree with Andrew.

        With teak surfing, the person is very close to the exhaust and thus gets a much greater exposure to the gases. With regular surfing, the person is far enough back that most of the exhaust has dissipated before it gets to them.

          I would argue that its possible (although anything is possible). You just have to keep in mind that CO has 240 times the affinity to attach to red blood cells than does oxygen. While traveling behind a boat, the air/ exhaust does mix.
