Preference: Teak vs. Composite

My 220 is the first time I have had a platform besides teak. I am considering switching the factory platform with teak. There is a guy really close to home that makes all the teak platforms for MC, SeaRay, BU, etc.


What do you think and how would it look??

I personally love the classic look of teak. Look at byerlys new boat and its teak. I say go with what you like....

Just went from teak to composite...so far, I like the composite. However, we are really used to calling the swim platform "the teak"....not sure we'll be able to break that habit very soon.

teak is the way to go. i almost made the switch when i got my 210. it just gives you that homemade feel and it looks so much better. you have to re teak it once every 4 months, but who cares. cc needs to add transom savers.

I'm a carpenter.
I like the teak platform on my 210SANTE alot. I wouldn't mind (!) a composite platform either...as long as it's SUPER AIR NAUTIQUE on the boat

I have a teak on my 04' san and want a composite, they are too much maintenance for me.

Teak all the way!

I ordered my 2007 206 with a teak deck. I looks just very cool and Old School and whenever new people are on the boat they comment on how much they like it. It takes a minute to reoil it..no big deal.

Maybe on my second Nautique I'll have something different, but this was my first and I don't mind spending the extra time with wood.

Teak. Better grip & if anything happens to it, you sand & refinish, more work if you bump into something with a composite one & it cracks or chips.
