    2008 211 cover ?

My new 211 is soon to arrive, I'm trying to find someone that makes snap covers for travel and when the boat is on my lift. Has anyone used the under the rub rail for a spot to mount the snaps? Its killing me that someone will be drilling into my boats fiberglass!! I live in Minnesota and willing to travel to anyone that needs to measure the boat.

    RE: 2008 211 cover ?

Not sure about you local area....but, I might have something for you to consider.

My new boat does not have a snap cover. My 99 Sport had a snap cover (to the bottom of the rub rail). And I have to tell you....I am really really happy with the new cover. It uses a cinch rope system that has a clip on one side....and then a cinch (thru the loop and back) on the other side. So once you clip the one side, you just go over and cinch and tie the other side. (zipper pockets cover the ropes) There are some addition ropes that came with the cover for strapping to the trailer...but, I have replaced those with rubber coated bungees. And I actually don't even put them on when the boat is sitting in the driveway. The cover is tight enough that there is no pooling water even without the bungees.

My dealer recommended this type of cover. They seem to be steering away from the snap style....they are also not too keen on drilling into the fiberglas...

I can tell you that this new cover takes about half the time to put on as the old one...and I really love it. Something to think about anyway.

You have 2 more days to get in on the Rankin group buy- check the classifieds section. Theyre the only semi-custom trailerable cover for Nautiques that I know of that do not use snaps. Dont drill into your gel coat!!!

Heres a (admittedly terrible) pic of mine:

Thank you so much for the info, I'll check the classifieds for the buy in. What company did you use on your 07 Nautique 216 team?

We are a bit spoiled here in Indianapolis...there is great custom shop called Smitty's. (actually called Smitty's Indianapolis Marine) They were the ones that had made the cover that was on my 99 Sport...and I utilized them several times with minor repairs and such. They were awesome.

The dealer I work with n3Boatworks, also utilize Smitty's. So, it's a custom job....but perhaps if you called n3Boatworks, they might be able to help you? It would be worth a call...I know that I loved the old cover....and I am really loving the current cover.

            2008 211 cover

I just traded my Mastercraft X10 for a 2008 211. I had the dealer make me a cover like the one mastercraft uses. It has the straps sewed in the sides and clips around the tower. At the back there is a ratchet type strap to hold tight. Works great. PM me and i will get you the contact info if you like. Good Luck

I had mine made in nashville, it is a 2 piece snap-on.....one covering bow and the other goes over windshield to the back of the boat....very solid cover excellent craftsmanship, takes him about 2 weeks and costs appx $750.
