Not normally, but I had a buddy toss one of them in the boat in a reckless manner and she spread her legs and scratched the engine cover (direct drive). I now use the footies for extra protection. They also really help on hot days at the boat ramp and keep them protected from sharp objects.

Ya'll are brave! I havent had the stomach to let this guy in my SANTE yet. I think about it and he loves the water but it just doesnt seem like a good match. He can slober and walk all over the JON boat with no problem!

My 95 lb. Golden, Chewy, is 9 years old and never misses a day with me on the boat. I have never had a problem with his paws or the upholstery or anything. I have a new 08 210 and going without him is not an option. I also 2nd the method mention above. Just put your hand on the back of their neck and let them use it for leverage. The newer boats' platforms sit lower in the water and he can actually pull himself up on it.

no dogs in my boat, nor my home....... i would guess I have more pets/animals than any 10 people here combined. I love them all, but not on the lake. I have two completely declawed cats in my home, and that is borderline, even.

Man do boxers and nautique owners go hand in hand. I have a 10 yr old female boxer named Mazzy. I have only taken her out in the boat once and she seemed miserable. she stayed in a ball under my feet in front of the driver seat the whole time. So I never take her with me. She is by the way the best and smartest dog I have ever had. Takes a while to get through the puppy stages but after that they are great to have around.

My 6.3 lb min pin doesn't have too hard of a time getting on the swim platform. He prefers viewing from the sun deck (see pic).

Those pictures of your boxers are awesome...we have a rescued boxer (42lbs) and a lab (85lbs). I haven't used the paw covers and so far so good, they haven't torn up the upholstery yet. I do keep their nails trimmed.

I know what a vizsla is... it's like a hungarian Weimereiner kinda... they're awesome dogs. I took my American bulldog out quite frequently and she just wanted to get in the water over and over and over. she loves it, but won't stay still and jumps in whenever someone else does. I was a little nervous taking her wakeboarding, as I thought she would jump out of the boat....

cute pup. and you are right. they are hungarian pointers. the weimarainer actually came from vizsla's. mojo jumps out occasionally when i fall and tries to save me, but usually he minds his manners. i'll try to get some pics on here but i'm not sure if i can
