Disappointed by West Coast Correct Craft

Picked up my 2001 SAN from WCCC today, she was getting perfect pass and the faria guage conversion. My speedo's bezel was scratched, there was silicone coming out from behind the perfect pass and my throttle was super hard to get in and out of gear. I live in south lake tahoe and noticed to stuff wrong with it on folsom lake. I just dropped it off after hours and am going to call them in the morning hopefully they make everything right. Just thought this was something you would expect from Malibu, not from correct craft.

RE: Disapointed by West Coast Correct Craft

I've ordered plenty of stuff from WCCC recently, and have had them send me up parts to Canada. I found them very helpfull in finding parts and diagnosing possible problems over the phone. I have never dealt with their service center though. I'm sure they will help you out.
I also have to admit the guys at the head office in Florida are pretty steller too. The service that I have recieved from CC has convinced me so far that my next boat will be a CC down the road.

Why not give the dealer a chance to correct the problem before publicly bashing them? What are you trying to accomplish?

I've had a "go back" at WCCC as well. They did make everything right. Courteous and professional. No argument, just made it right. A little frustrating however, because like you, I had a 1.5 hr drive to get there. BKH

WCCC is the west coast regional hub for CC, not a dealer. They should be expected to perform to a higher standard, since they more directly represent the company. That said, I have never had anything but perfect service and treatment from them.

Not that this is an excuse, but SWCC a regional warehouse just packed it up and shut down. WCC has had to pick up the slack for half the work that SWCC was doing. My dealer in Texas will now get his parts from them so I am sure that they are overwhelmed with new work. Might be some growing pains they are experiencing. Give them another chance for sure.

I have had work done there in the past , a complete engine swap to be exact and I thought there service was outstanding as well as them answering every question I had for them. I am sure that if you give them a chance to correct these issues it will be taken care of.

I would have to agree that it is an inconvenience for these things not being taken care of since you are so far away but things happen and bashing them on an open forum probably isn't the right way to go about it. Talk to Mark Rhodes about it he is very good to work with, since they are the CC service center you just might need his help in the future.

Talked to them this morning and everything is being made right as i expected, I guess i should have talked to them before " publicly bashing" them. I guess i just was upset that i drove all the way there and things werent as perfect as i wanted. So I take back being disappointed with them.

I used to work at a local dealer, and I got the opportunity to attend two service clinics at West Coast Correct Craft. Every thing I saw, and every one I met there convinced me that they are a paragon of service faculities. Their mechanics are top notch. Their fiberglass people are among the best. They have made many efforts to obtain many parts that they catch wind that are going to become "no longer available" I have met, and have had many conversations with Bob Bense. He runs a class operation.
toyota40, I am sure what you experienced is out of the norm, and the problems will be taken care of.
My only regret is that WCCC is about 700 or 800 miles from where I live.

Just curious, but did you even look at the work they did before hooking up the boat and towing it home?

When I picked it up i just did a quick peak under the cover and everything looked fine as i was confident about the job being done right. I drove to folsom lake to ride (fifteen minutes from WCCC) and noticed everything when i pulled it off the trailer. So I never got it all the way home. I am going to right a follow up tommorrow after picking my boat up and aniticipate it to be a positive one.

Picked up the boat today and everything was made right to the original correct craft quailty i expected. I also want to apoligize to WCCC for making a pubilic statement. While I was surprised of the origianl outcome i never doubted that the situation would come out corrected. I know the the best boat manuafacturer would hire the best techs. No one is perfect, and i believe i am one of very few who have slipped through their fingers.

Yes, I agree, but a scratched speedo and silicone coming out from behind the PP might been seen if they are as obvious as the OP says.

I do not find Toyota40's comments "bashing" at all; especially in light of some things written in the past. He even clarified "I just dropped it off after hours and am going to call them in the morning hopefully they make everything right." Has this site become so PC that we can not voice some reasonable frustration? ER
