bridges. we ride on a lot of rivers in TX that have bridges and high cliffs on either side. when going under a bridge, the zero off loses satellites and the boat will slow or even come off of plane. the best solution is to shut it off, go under the bridge, then turn it back on. a software patch needs to be made that will allow the boat to use dead reckoning speed (i.e. hold on to its last calculated speed) for a programmable amount of time to allow the boat to pass under.
current. not so noticeable when wakeboarding, it does have a negative impact surfing. the difference between going down river and up river, around the inside of a bend or outside of a bend can have a dramatic effect. it takes a few more seconds to dial the wake in. when you head in the opposite direction, you have to go through the same BS.
the boat was an 08 210 w/ Excal. is zero off standard or an upgrade? i never had a problem w/ PP, and would actually prefer it for the rivers that i ride on. interestingly, my sirius reception never gets blocked, but i assume that has to do with the number of satellites that it takes to triangulate your location and determine your speed w/ zero off.
