'84 mastercraft to '93 Sport Nautique

Hi guys! I have a '84 Stars & Stripes Mastercraft that I just finished refurbishing this spring and it is a great all-round boat for skiing and toy pulling. The problem I have is that my 17 year old son is getting into wakeboarding pretty strong and this boat just doesn't do the trick even with fat sacks.

I know someone that is selling their '93 open bow sport nautique in great shape for $14k. I really would like some opinions on whether this boat is a good choice for the money to wakeboard behind? Will this boat provide the wake needed or should I look at another later model nautique?

    Thanks!

That is a very good boat for wakeboarding. I would say that that hull is the basis for a lot of correct craft's more recent wakeboarding specific boats like the "air" series.

Is it the style that still has teh square windosw? if so, i was told by a friend who has ridden behind one like that who said it had a very nice wake, similar to the 2001's when weighted right. if it is the round ones, it will still have a good wake, much better than the old stars and stripes

If you would consider a trade, I have an '85 2001 that's much more suited for wakeboard than slalom. It's not in perfect condition, but some extra boot could cure that.
