Smith Mountain Lake Gathering -- August 2-3

As some of you know, there is a plan being worked on to hold a Nautique gathering at Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia on the weekend of August 2-3. Crad Winkelvoss is the main person behind this gathering. Please see the note from him below. An effort is being made to get local dealers involved, and Correct Craft Corporate may send up some give-aways as well. If you are planning to attend, please e-mail Crad by clicking the link below. He needs to get a count as soon as possible. As of right now, the plan is to base the event out of Bernerd's Landing on SML. I'm sure Crad will provide more information in the near future.

As some of you know, there is another thread about this event. We decided to close that thread and start this new one so that all of the information here will be up-to-date.

We are ON for the weekend of Aug 1-3. Jeff, Lilfoot, Wakecrashin, and myself had a conference call this evening to discuss the plan. Correct Craft is extremely excited for us to have this event and I'm sure that if this event is successful, it will only get bigger as the years go on.

Our plan is to stay at Benerads Landing. The event will start Saturday morning with a registration and sign. Correct Craft's President Bill Yeargin as offered give-a-ways and if we have enough participants a RIDERS - SO I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING, WHICH MEANS IN FOR SURE BY JUNE 16!!!!!!!!

Here is the information on Bernard's Landing. I just got off the phone with them. What a place. The wife is going to be happy laying on the beach or pool while I play with you all. Hope I can find a driver.

Ok Members we are on a roll today.

You asked to move the location and we did. BERNARD'S LANDING. This is going to be a fantastic place to stay with family and friends.

Here are some of the amenities.

- Marina - to dock the boats - free dock if staying
- On-site ramp -
- lots of room for the trailers

NOW THAT WE GOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGs OUT OF THE WAY - THE BOATS

It also offers

- Jet ski rent - try renting and riding one of those while we are riding.

- Pontoon rentals - The MINI van of boats. Also known as Mastercraft. Look about the same.
- A beach
- 2 pools - Heated
- Hot tubes to relax the bones so we can do it all again the next day

NOW I have block 12 rooms under "Planet Nautique: so call 1-800-572-2048. Rooms are held until July 1

Rates as follows:

1 Bedroom 1 night 194.25 2 nights 350.00 - Currently 11 available
2 bedroom 1 night 263.27 2 nights 473.75 Currently 4 available
They also have 1- 3 bedroom available. Call for price. If you are bring that many kids, I'd suggest getting a 1 bedroom so there is no chance for having more kids. Just kidding.

We are receiving 15% off the nights, plus the dock (I think I got the dock thing correct being free- I heard her say it was 10.00 for the dock, so either way!!!).

Policy - 30 day cancellation policy. If you cancel 30 prior to the stay there will be a 25.00 processing fee (Sucks). If less then 30 days it will cost you one nights stay, so you should still come for one night.

More information to follow on what is being donated and who will be coming. I wouldn't miss this event!!!!

Man...I'm going to miss this by one (1) weekend. I'll be up there the following weekend. I'm debating on whether to bring the boat...a three hour tow with current gas prices is starting to get cost prohibitive.
