maint. on prop shaft?

i have an 87 ski natique with a 351 commander and a velvet 1:1 tranny...i have been hearing noises coming from the prop area under the boat i was wondering if there are any parts that i should be lubing or inspection for wear?

bd, What's the noise sound like? You want to check the condition of the custlass bearing in the strut. The prop shaft should have minimal and preferably no axial play in it. Have you hit anything lately that may have damaged the prop? How's the prop shaft/engine/strut alignment? Last thing is the packing at the shaft log (where it goes through the hull). They somtimes will squeal if dry and old.
