I am thinking an analogy of when "New" Coca-Cola was released...

Maybe somewhat novel, but a return to the "Original" would be well advised...

Looks like the direct-drive version. Note the location of the gas filler cap and vent.

          All,

I am really hoping this acutally helps those of us with later model 216's and similar. YOu know the true Correct Crafts not the Malibu copies. Now.. will admit I am older but I still love the classic, ageless Correct Craft lines. In 20 years people will want the traditional lines not the "bling". No offense to those who like the bling. I bought my 2004 216 as the last boat I will ever own and one I will pass to one or more of my kids. In 20 years the old lines will still work.

My 2 cents. IF THEY EVER mess up the 196...there will be a mutiny.....

Kinda like the new Ford SuperDuties...bling bling but it DONT WORK (for those of you who own one my appoligies in front but 7 radiators and you have to remove the entire dog house to work in the darn thing).

Guess I should get off my soap box.

One of the reasons I bought my first nautique is because of the more traditional looks that they present.......
....and when people goo and gah over it......its because they know its the best boat for quality and performance out there, with the highest resale because of it.

I really hope that CC doesn't get off track......When you make something thats' the best out there....you simply don't with it too much.
I'm not saying that CC is sacrificing looks for quality....as some mfgr's have done over the last few years, I'm just hoping that their customer service and quality products continue to last.

CC, you don't have to win the show and shine all the time, just know that most experienced riders wish that they had your boat.

As for Malibu looks....I truly believe that Bu's are one of the sharpest looking boats out there. The black Illusion tower was a great design.
But.....just look how many are for sale all the time, the value they hold, and the maintenance they require.

my 2 cents...from a dude who always wanted a nauty.....got one....and might get another or two in my lifetime.

Im definitly NOT a fan of the new tower. It looks out of place from any angle. The lines of the tower dont belong on a CC. I would expect to see this on a Sea Doo jet boat. Dont even get me started on that after thought of a windsheild design on the 216.

Maybe its because the tower is designed by a third party that doesnt have the same sense of style as CC. No offense to the Roswell guys.

I have to say that I dont look forward to defending my brand when the BU owners come snickering. But I will none the less.

I actually really like the boat, just not the tower. I guess it is an age thing, or the fact that I am not a skier, but I actually don't like the look of the old Nautiques. I originally had a 99 Sport and now have a 211. I actually didn't like my 99, and the functional aspect of the 99 is no where near my 211.

If the 216v had the vents on the back like the new 230/210/etc it would look really nice...

It's not an age thing or a ski/wakeboard thing. I'm a younger Nautique owner that does not ski and prefer the older lines. So much for CC and their classic, timeless look. At this point I would not consider buying any CC post 2005.
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

                      I don't think the 230 has changed. The boat above is a 216v, not a 230.

Has anyone seen any interior pics of the new 216v or better yet, seen it in person? I personally think that the boat looks pretty good, but I admit that the tower would have to grow on me. If it is a malibu with correct craft build quality then I just might sign-up.

The 230 is not changing from it's current design but does have the following improvements for 09:
                          - Redesigned helm: now a one peice design that is vinyl wrapped instead of the rubber look stuff. Also includes new black faced gauges with blue lighting & the acrylic backing plate has been changed to brushed stainless steel.
                          - Dripless packing gland std
                          - Crest or new graphic (can't wait to see it on a boat. Looks great in the sample) now std. Upgrade to Chromax "Super Air Nautique" optional
                          - 4 pull out cleats std
                          - New Soft touch coaming inserts replaces the white plastic inserts on the side walls
                          - Windscreen is now silver powder coat
                          - relocated subwoofer location to a glassed in box behind the drivers seat
                          - new amp board design - now using POLK amps with higher power outputs & much cleaner installation. From what I have seen about 80-90% of the wires are now hidden and overall install is much cleaner. Easier access to gains etc
                          - dual aux inputs to stereo

                          New optional items include:

                          - Underwater lights
                          - redesigned table
                          - pop up pylon/lifting ring combo

RE: 2009 changes 220 super air

220 changes are identical to the 230 with the exception of:

                                - The dash stays the same design but has the same gauge & face plate changes
                                - there are no coaming inserts
                                - no table option

As for the retrofit to previous models, my thoughts are for the lights this is possible, although they may need a seperate switching device if you want to operate them independantly of the docking or Nav lights. I can't see the sub being possible, but I may be wrong. My understanding is that there is a new upholstery pad to accomodate it & that the box for the sub is glassed in when the boat is being built. In the 230 it is not that big of a drama storage wise anyway as the factory location is up out of the way. In the 210 it will make a huge difference.
