Good Direction
I'm happy about the direction that the company seems to be heading, if the new boat is a preview of what the whole line will become. I must say that I went to the boat show earlier this year and I did not think that Nautique was the clear winner. Like many of you I think the quality is great, but come on...let do quality and stunning appearence. I'll bet the new tower look nice and bold.
Example...I think Tige's are crap, but at the boat show this year all the Tige's were sitting on the Illusion trailers by EZ Loader. Because of the "knock-out" looking trailers the boats actually looked better. I'm glad to see that Nautique is catching the drift.
Tradition is great, but I truly beleive a boat company can build both a quality and electrifyingly beautiful boat. Let's hope the trend continues.

RE: Good Direction
I don't really care for much of it, and i also am one of those younger guys (i am 28), and am sure glad i saved my money and got my 02 SAN 3 years ago, cause there hasn't been a SAN that i have liked since 04. I am a classic look guy i guess, to each their own. I say yuck to this one.2002 Super Air Nautique

Hidious!
Up until now, I knew when I saw a CC on the lake...I totally agree, this is looking more and more like "keeping up with the Malibu's". CC has always impressed me with the "don't fix what ain't broke" attitude.
Kinda like Harley Davidson getting more streamlined and JAP looking with there bikes and then LOOSING vlaue because of it.

RE: Hidious!
I have been looking at new boats since Jan. I almost bought a MCX15 but thanks to
my local frendly MC dealer I went back to CC and demoed the 230. The ski wake was too
large so my CC dealer suggested the 210 What a boat all the wakes are great. He didn't
have any 08 210s but he just got a 09 210 with the new tower. It looks pretty bad
in the pictures but its a lot better in person. The side speakers turn 180 degrees and
it folds effortlessly its also solid as a rock. All the wiring is hidden and it has a light
shining down in the center like a cars dome light. It has great function but I not
completely sure. I need to see it with a over the top Bimini the under is too low.
I will order in Dec 08 I will decide by then the new tower or the titan. By next year
I wont be a wannabe anymore.

I had heard the tower discussion was very "warm" so I thought I would look. I don't like that particular option (I am sure it is an option - so other tower designs are available), and I like to see CC pushing the boundaries. My big concern is that there is no question boarders are partnering up to save on gas, etc... so Nautique storage has always been an issue. I have seen the popularity of the Z5 Bimini on Supra's become standard basically because of it's exceptional storage ability. My only concern with this option is that how in the world will a bimini similar to a Z5 fit on this tower. The benefit of a Z5 is that you don't have to roll it up, it's part of the boat and you leave everything on it. This optional tower also seems to have minimized the number of boards that can go on the boat, even if you put another rack on - where would it go? I wish they would have posted with other options because now there is so much momentum on how bad this option is that they will spend time and money fixing the communications - when that energy and money could be better used. CC - good job on experimenting but the execution and marketing may have understated the public opinion a little.

They do offer a Z5 that fits this tower. I have seen it in person, and it looks and works great.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. NautiqueJeff - yes I did see another picture after submitting that post - darn it - smile. I would say it does look good, since you have seen it in person does it appear it would hold up going down the highway? I know typically no one recommends driving with the bimini up - but they are so sturdy that there are no concerns because of the hinge points offering such stability. This optional tower doesn't seem to offer the leverage needed unless the bimini has very strong tubing or something. I thought the bimini looked cool and usable though. I jsut want a Z5 for my FCT SAN 2004 - smile.

It should. The Z5 is made to be trailerable. I had one on my 230 this year, and I never took it down when trailering.
