    Locking gas cap Vs Alarm

I know of some lake friends that got their tanks emptied and I figured I should try to prevent it from happening to myself before i lose $200+ worth of gas out of my 220.

A Jeep style alarm is one option, and a locking gas cap would be another. The gas cap would be the cheapest alternative. Has anybody put a locking gas cap on their nautique? Also, if you have information about a cost effective (<=$300) alarm that would be nice too. I did a site search and didnt find anything on either.

RE: Locking gas cap Vs Alarm

If it were me and I had to worry about stuff like that I would certainly get the locking cap. It's cheaper, and what are you going to do if your alarm goes off? If you're not close it's useless, people usually ignore car alarms these days anyways, and I would think the locking cap would accomplish the same thing.
