    Would a ACME 1234 be good on an '05 SV211 TE w/ ZR6?

    I got a new prop a while ago, back when the 1234 just came out. I believe it was Jim at ACME that recommended the 536 for my boat, so I bought it. Was way better than Stock, but still not awesome on hole-shot. He was concerned that the 1234 would be too much with the ZR6, and that the 14" size of the 1234 would put the prop too close to the gelcoat . He said that if the prop is less than 1/2" (I think) away from the gelcoat, it could cause burning of the gelcoat.

    I load my boat with about 1,000 lbs. over stock ballast, and I usually have 1 driver and 2 passengers.

    Anybody having troubles with a 1234/1235 on a 211? Do you think the 1234 would be a good pick for the ZR6 211? Also, did the 1234/1235 prop change the wake?

    I think I need a new prop, especially with the way the gas prices are going up. I spend a bit of time getting on plane, and I know it's got to waste gas. Any recommendation would be appreciated.

    how would a very high rpm prop make you SAVE on gas? unless you're running 3 000 lbs of ballast?

    I'm running a 644 on my 330excalibur(210) and it's a good compromise IMO.

      I should state that our crew tries new tricks a lot, so there are lots of short runs. We don't spend too much time at riding speed because of this. Start-Stop-Start-Stop, etc. We don't cruise with the boat, start riding from the dock, return to the dock, switch rider, and do it again. Lots of full throttle for getting out out of the hole.

        I would run the 1272 on the ZR6, the deeper cup will keep it from overrevving.

        I ran the 1272 for a weekend behind my 330 then sent it back for a 1234 cause the 330 would only turn it 4900rpms. The surf wake was better on starboard, worse on port versus the 1160 I run which is nearly the same as a 536 or 644.

        I also noticed the 1272 produced some spray at 34mph <28off

          Thanks Mikeski. So, in your opinion, will I see a good level of improvement if I were to switch to the 1272? I wasn't that impressed with the last prop upgrade (536), so I don't want to plunk down more money for a prop if it isn't going to be a really good improvement.

          Also, If I were to change props, do you think the wake at 22-24 mph while wakeboarding will change any?

          Thanks!

            I have some input here and an possible opportunity for dabigkahuna;

            I have an 07 SV211 Team with the ZR6. Stock prop is the 645 which works great. I wanted a back up prop so I figured i would try the new low end prop Acme's 1235. The 1235 prop it's ridiculously fast to plane. I immediately liked the prop but soon realized it wouldn't work for my application. I typically drive 20 minutes up a river to our riding spot and I need to cruise in the high 30's/low 40 mphs. That's too many RPM using the 1235. Does anyone have a 645 or a similar prop in good condition they may want to trade? My 1235 was only used two days and has been sitting in the box ever since.

              Agreed, the 645 with the ZR6 is great.

                I have the 330 and love the 1234 on my 211. No issues with burning gelcoat. CC ok'd it before I put it on. No change in the wake, just the pull out of the hole.

                  I also run about 1k over stock, but with 1 or 2 more bodies than you.
