Hello all. I have spent many unsucessful hours on here trying to find information on weight setups for surfing on the port side of an 01 SAN. I have tried many different things and cant seem to get a surfable wake on the port side. I was curious if anyone has found a setup that works on this hull with the vdrive configuration? I have weighted the boat so much that the rub rail in the back was completely submerged. I obviously have no problem with the wake on the starboard side but I am the only one that rides goofy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: 01 SAN port side surf wake need help!!!!
Just surfed this Sunday and never had a problem. Fill your stock port ballast and leave the starboard empty. We then add a 400 in the rear port compartment. 400# between the observer seat and the rear seat ( I don't have the wrap around seat) Cube on the port rear seat, 250# rear center seat, couple people sitting port side and set the PP at 10mph. Get the smallest person to drive also or have the driver sit on the observer seat.2016 SAN 210

I think I have everything except you said something about Cube on rear port seat? So I want starboard tank empty, 400 port storage, 400 between observer and rear, 250 rear center seat and Cube (not sure what you mean) port rear seat?? Then set PP at 10. To not fill the starboard tank do i just close the knob to not allow air out of the tank and then hit the fill button?

Screw the knob out to not fill the starboard. We also had 6 people in the boat. Make sure you aren't turning to the starboard also. Works best straight or a very slight starboard turn.2016 SAN 210

What is this cube you refer to on the port rear seat. The setup I tried was 250 ski locker, both rear tanks full, 400 port locker, 200 observer, 125 bow, driver in oberver seat, passenger on port sundeck, and two people in port rear seat. tried speeds from 9.7- 11.4. I couldnt get the wake to quit washing out. With this setup the rub rail was under waer and water would occasionally come in over the side of the boat.

The cube is a 100# cube. Not going to make or break surfing. I would empty your starboard and give it another try. You should have plenty of weight. Try a little port turn, not alot but just a little. Where are you located?2016 SAN 210

I dont think depth is the issue. I dont have any problem with the wake on the starboard side washing out. Sinkoumn how much would you reccommend for belly and bow weight or what setup would you recommend? I want to have a few different options to try to see what works best on my boat.

We run usually the 400lb in the rear ballast tank, ~600lb in the belly, and like 150-200lb in the bow - then depending on how many people we have in the boat I will either just have all the people sit on the side we're surfing, or if it's just the driver I will fill up a fatsac 3/4 way full in the corner on top of the seat (so the sac will sits tall, not flat). Most people like going 9.8mph, but I'm a fan of 10.5mph (makes the wave a lot firmer and pushed back when you push).
But generally people don't put enough weight in the bow to surf and get a super high wave that is rather soft and doesn't have much push to it.

I have a 97 super sport same hull as your: heres what I run and it's pretty nice. 700lbs in rear port locker and another 80 in pop bags on the rear sear port side. Starboard empty. Belly bag in ski locker 650 lbs full. 200 lead in nose. Basically it is the same as my wake setup just drain the starboard sac and go. Anyone in the boat also needs to be on the port side but it usually just one other person besides the rider with me. I usually go straight or a little turn to the port side and around 10-11 mph on the speedos.

my buddies surfed port side behind my boat and had a great wave to today, my setup is the following, starboard pro x fat sac filled 3rd of the way, port pro x fat sac filled all the way, bow sac filled all the way, and a a rear seat sac in the ski locker all the way, 4 people sitting on the port side inculding me the driver. when i moved from the driver's seat to the port side was when the wake got excellentBoat: 2001 Nautique Super Sport
