Our 230 came with the regular SAN decal and we liked the new Crest decals much more... So it was time for spending a sunny saturday on the drive way instead of the water.
I don't have any pictures of the installation itself, but I'll make a small write up.
The decals are not 1 or 3 pieces somebody said before. They are 7 seperate pieces for one side! So it's diffecult to allign these. Even to make things worse, at first the decals are not alligneble (word?) at all. 2 pieces are to big and contains overlap for other pieces. You'll need to cut this away.
The first you'll need to do is remove the old decal and with sticker remover remove every old residu of the decal. Even if you don't see old residut, use the sticker remover! After that wash the boat with water and clean it with alcohol or something that make the surface free of dirt.
Start by taping the new decal on the boat and see how things work out. You don't need the SAN decal yet. Just the 4 parts of the Crest itself (windshield, above rubrail, below rubrail high part and below rubrail lower part). You'll see the above rubrail and below rubrail high part needs tweaking. Those decals are to big and contains overlap with other decals. This is not a problem and you'll just need a chirugery knive. The decal itseld is rather thin on this part so it's easy to remove. Make a spray can with 99% water and 1% soap. You really don't wanna have to much soap in it! We started with the above rubrail decal. Because the boat has a line in it, you'll need to start this decal from the middle and work to the sides. The decal should start from the tranmission upper horizontal to vertical corner. So not from the window!! We removed the complete sticking side of the decal, sprayed/drowned it with water/soap. Also on the boat and attached this decal from the middle side to the outer sides. While the decal is this wet you can still manouver it a bit on the boat. With a soft plastic cap you push all the water under the decal away. Start again from the middle! You'll have some extra decal at the rubrail, use the chirugery knife to cut this away. This is very easy to do! When the decal is attached take of the upper part of the decal foil (sp?) with care.
After this we installed the upper part of the decal below the rubrail. You'll lay the decal up at the tranmission (blue/orange color at our boat) and installed it from the middle to the outher sides. Again you'll see the decal needs al little tweaking at the rubrail. The lowest part of the decal and the window "crown" are fairly easy after this.
Then the SAN part. This part are 3 separate pieces. The lowest part of the Crest decals has some marking points in the decal at which you can allign the SAN decal. For 2 of the three parts this works out. The last part you'll still need some masking tape and a sharp eye!
It's a lot of work and we needed 3 persons, patience and 5 hours for it. It's not diffecult, but you really need some patience (that's why our girls did it for us Yellow_Flash_Colorz: )! And use water, alot of water!! This is the only way to get a bubble free decal on the boat! I think the results are great. I don't think the dealer itself could have done a better deal. Probably faster...
Good luck!
