    Sad nautique story

This weekend on the lake in tx a storm hit saturday afternoon .. a air 216 took a few waves over the bow and sank . The boat flipped upside down floating with the hull only floating out of the water .. We found it towed it back to a buddies property took the tower to flip it rite side up to drain the water out to put it on my trailer ... We were able to contact the owner the next day to return the boat to the owner..

Just glad we were able to recover it and return it to the owner ....... Just a crazy story i had to share

good job taking care of his boat, very classy.

on the other hand... I can't imagine the pain!! I thought our bilge pumps were strong enough to eliminate the water from big waves. scary.

        RE: Sad nautique story

The crappy part about these types of boats, from what I was thinking, is that if you get enough water over the top and the ballast is empty, it will try to float, which might be what flipped the boat. The air in the tanks trying to get to the top..

Great job to help out a fellow Nautique owner, though. That was really classy, but what a terrible thought to have that happen to your boat.

But hey if it was my boat i would hope someone would recover it for me too, i didnt mind doing either because even though it was a sad sight it was kinda fun recovering it

Yeh, im not shure if the owner is going to buy the boat back from insurance..Its definately totaled though

But he said if he does he is either parting it out selling parts

                        Adams93,

What time did the boat flip? Where were all the people in the Nautique? Did you guys pick them up out of the water and into your boat. I was just curious because you said it was dark when you saw the boat and the storm came through about 5-6 o'clock. Was the boat upside down for hours? Just trying to get the story because everyone's asking me at work what the scoop is. We hit the cliffs alot during the summer.

What kind of boat is yours. I give you a shout out if I'm out. I've got an 05 226 Blue hull white deck.

                        Later,

                        Ken.

From what they said the boat fliped when the storm hit about 5 or 6pm when it rolled in ...they said they made it off before it fliped. I wasnt out there when the storm hit but made it out when a buddy called and told me so i guess it had been in the water for hours.....we went to check it out and i decided "**** i can get this boat out of the water" and it had allmost the same hull as my boat so i thought it will fit on my trailer. It took hours to tow it so it let late into the nite.

                          I have a 94 blue sport

Cool Give me shout if you ever out
