So I'm ready to take the plunge and buy a real boat. I've looked at the rest and decided I need to get the best. My only question is which is better from a wake perspective, the 220 or the 230? I know the 210 is the ultimate, but I need the extra room offered by the 220 and 230. Also, any input you have on any changes for 2009 to the 220 and 230 would be appreciated.

I would no longer say that the 210 is the ultimate.
The 230 is what many consider to be the flagship of the Air Nautique line right now. I have one, and I love it! I personaly would never buy a 220 for a couple of reasons. First, the rear seat design is not all that great. Second, and most important, the wake is extremely sensitive to weight distribution. If you don't keep the 220 perfectly balanced, the wake will wash out on one side.
Go with the 230. You won't be disappointed!
Changes for 2009 include the colored deck stripe option, additional tower option, and there is a rumor of a more powerful ZR-6 engine for 2009 as well.
By the way, if you want to wait until late September, I will be selling my '08 230 Team, and I'll make you a good deal. Jeff, Love your 230 and if it had the Titan tower, I would be all over it. How come you are selling it so soon??

It's my ultimate.
to answer the question the question most people cant:
i own both. the 220 interior is far superior to any boat on the market.
warming tray? check.
easily accessible trash can? check.
storage out the wazzoo? check.
cup holders accessible in the bow? check.
easily accessible cooler in the main cabin? check.
easy access to storage under observers seat w/o making observer move (walkthough door)? check.
small item storage in lean back for easy access to people in rear of boat? check.
the 230 is good, but i finding that i have to be more particular on storing the standard boat equipment and passenger equipment because the space runs out quicker than the 220.
nifty convertible sundeck walk through? check.
entire engine hatch that lifts? check.
awesome low profile dash? check.
windblock that requires opening to have access to the trash can? check. (mine is coming out and staying in storage until it is time to get rid of the boat)
trash can that rattles becasue the sub fires directly into it? check.
cooler location that requires the lifting of a seat and a lid? check.
bow filler cushion that cannot be used at the same time as bow cupholders? check.
useless non insulated cooler by the sundeck that is hard to access while underway? check.
as for the wake, the 220 is sensitive. now that i think more about it, i seem to remember that sensitivity being amplified when i put on the ACME 1234. the stock prop is going back on this week, so i will have an update. for the shape, i think it is as close to the old 210 as you can come. the 220 wake is easy to build, but the boat will only take so much weight before it reaches its max. surf wake is one of the best out there.
230 wake--i just finished plumbing my bags today and will have a full report after this weekend.

I'm not agreeing on all point what tdc says... But I'm with him about the cup holders in the bow. Does are not accesible when the bow filler cushion is on his place. But I really think the 230 has much more storage as a 230. And the storage is much more easy accesible as the whole boat is easier to use on the inside (my opinion, not flame intented). But tdc is right that there is not much small item storage in the 230. You only have the dash to store small things and at the driver side some small stuff.
As the wake goes... It's all personal, but I'm coming from the "old" 210 hull (owned several), and my feeling is that the 230 wake is by far superior to the "old" 210 wake.230 with ZR6 running on propane

I recently bought an 06 220 SANTE with 50 hours for basically nothing. I love it! I'd agree that the wake is sensitive, but I've found it easy to dial in. I really like how you can easily shape the wake to be more mellow or with serious pop. I'd recommend looking a used boat either way you go. If the boat has been taken care of CC should last forever, in my opinion, let someone else eat the depreciation. Check out boat trader online. You have a ton of barginning room given the weak consumer and with fuel prices being where they are.

IMO the 210 220 and 230 are all great boats, I have spent a lot of time in a 220 and I love the layout of the interior and the wake is great.
Cant go WRONG with any of the super air series IMO.
Spend some time in both the 220 and 230 and see what you like and dislike and then go from there.

I keep hearing about weight sensitivity on the 220. Is it any more than the old style 210, ..say 2001-2005? I think the 230 is sweet, but IMO if they slightly tweeked the 220, by fixing the rear seat layout, and giving it the same beam as the 210, it would simply be perfect.

It's pretty much the same as the old style 210. So it's not to bad, but you just need to have to distrubute everybody on the right place and keep a 50lbs weight in the boat to ballance it.
I like the 220, but if they indeed switch to the 210 style of interior the 210-220-230 line up would be perfect!230 with ZR6 running on propane
