Hey Folks-
It's been about 5 months since I last ran my 06 211. I'm about to tow it north for the summer so I decided to get it into "ready to go" condition. One of my first projects was to run the engine and charge the batteries. I'm no where near a body of fresh water so I decided to use the flush kit and fire it up in my driveway. After getting the engine started (the batteries needed a jump) I turned my hose on with mild pressure (as my dealer instructed) and paid close attention to the exhaust to see how much water was getting through. Water began to drip from the exhaust and I periodically checked the engine temperature. The temperature settled at about a 154 degrees and all was well (it had been about ten minutes at this point).
About two minutes later the engine shut off abruptly. I looked at the engine temp and it was still at 155 and then looked at the motor. Mild white smoke came up through the bottom of the motor for a very short time. The engine wasn't hot and all of the hoses seemed to be in working order.
Why did the engine shut off if it wasn't overheating? Any ideas as to what might cause smoke in the situation? Was it lack of water pressure? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Fritz
