    extra ballast

I just bought an 06 210. I like the wake for most wake to wake tricks but tricks into the flats seem to be more difficult with how steep the wake is. Is it possible to make the wake more rampy by adding extra ballast up front. How do most people add additional ballast to this boat? I could add wedge sacs in the back but that would probably just make the wake steeper. There is not a ton of room to put extra weight up front. Thanks.

    RE: extra ballast

The best thing I found for this with my old SS was to put 500-600lbs in the ski locker and about 250lbs on each side of the engine, for some reason when I added an extra 400lbs to the bow, the wake actually got steeper again, and adding more wieght to the back also made the wake steeper, that boat just has a steep wake, some love it others don't, but either way it is a sic wake.

Adding weight to the nose will take some of the vert away and give the wake more ramp. You will need to experiment with the amount of weight you add to get the shape you prefer! I was running factory ballast + 400 in the nose of my 03 210.

Here is an easy solution, cut harder!! I rode behind this wake for years and absolutely loved it, the only thing small on your boat is the interior....

pop products steel shot bags will increase the wake size and clean it up.. they also have a very small footprint.

            Pablo ~

Go with the Pop Products bags as suggested. I run 160lbs (4 bags) right in the nose and that noticeably makes the wake "rampier". I also have another 240lbs (6 bags) hidden in the cabin area.

When my wife is riding or new riders are behind the boat I empty the rear tanks and keep the belly full. This makes the wake much less intimidating for the riders.

Where do you get the pop product bags?

would it be too much weight to leave in the front of the boat if i was always trailering the boat? I am excited to try out weighing the nose of the boat down to see if i can get a rampier wake. Do you have any idea how the pros would weight this boat up for tournaments?

I would not leave the bags full when trailering the boat

I don't trailer my boat more than maybe once a year. When I have, I did leave the bags in the boat, but I moved them all to the "cabin" area so they were over the axels. Everything was fine. That being said, the bags are easily moved.

I have no idea how the pros weigh their boats. I have ridden behind an 03 210 with stock ballast and an additional 900lbs in lead plus 5 adults and the wake was scary big and probably similiar to a "pro" wake.

Thanks for all the replies and advice. How expensive is steel shot or lead these days? How about sand bags for weight?
