    Wake pics of 1990 - 1995 SNs ????

Could you guys help a guy out and post some wake pics from your early 90's Ski Nautiques ??

Some weighted pics at boarding speeds would be great and then show us the set-up that created the wakes with a short discription of whats in it.

I'd like to see what its capable of.

    Thanks in advance.

I rode behind a 96 ski nautique for 10 years before i bought a 210. Unfortunately I don't have any pics, I can say that the shape is great for wakeboarding when weighted heavily, but its hard on the PP transmissions of that era. I had issues with my tranny after putting 1500lbs of ballast in it. Even after weighting it that much, it still isn't any bigger than the new 210's factory ballast and the ski nautiques are harder to steer

I will be able to post some pics but it might be a few days before i get out on the water, I can tell you my configuration though. I have two side sack next to the engine box roughly 350-400 lbs each. a 750lbs sack behind the engine box in front of the back seat, and a small phat buddy sack, I think 250lbs in the bow. I typed all of this and just realized you are looking for info on ski nautiques and I have a 90 sport. Maybe this will/will not help.

Not the best pic, but that's our '94s wake at about 70 ft out.
        We currently use:
200 lbs lead under the back seat
2 x 250 pound side sacks up beside the doghouse
1 x 600 pound sack in front of the back seat
a bit of weight up under the bow - 2 amps, gear, anchor, tools, etc.

I found that once I added the side sacks, it handles a lot better than with the weight just in the back. It is a little stiff in the turns though.

What I like most about it:
nice long transition with a really nice crisp peak to the wake. I think later in the 90s they changed the hull and it really rounded over the wake on the ski nautiques.

Do you ride that far back because the wake is better at that point?

While we're on that subject, does spectra line come with the different line lengths like slalom rope? I'm thinking it would be nice to find the sweet spot.

In general, more weight requires a little more speed and puts the "sweet spot" further back, 70-75 ft back is pretty common. Spectra does come with takeoff sections.

As rbalan suggested, more weight requires a bit more speed. Going too slow will cause the wake to curl over and wash out.
However, speeding up causes the wake to narrow, so lengthening the rope maintains the distance between the wake.
As well, you can get a bit more hang time with a longer rope.

I like the fat seat a lot. It took a lot of space, but worth it. If I remember correct, the fat seat held 1500lbs and the sac held 500lbs. It was a nice wake!!!
