    Uneven wake?

I have a 84 2001. I am running it without any ballast right now. For some reason, the wake is uneven. The passenger side wake is really bad. It is low and "foamy" on the top with no real crest. The driver side wake is much better with a nice, tall, even wake. The passenger side wake gets better when you turn left but only while turning. Any ideas?

How many passengers? Makes sense if you are the only one in the boat.

from 2 people to 6 with people with gear, and full gas tank. We have tried arranging weight all diff ways but it does not solve the uneven wake.

What direction does the prop spin in the boat? Is it the original motor?

It is a RH prop. It has the original PCM 454 motor in it.

the SN2001 are tiny and are VERY sensitive to left to right weight it must be perfect. passengers cant just sit there. they will have to move around to get the balance right, remember "the white side is the light side" have your passengers (or sacs) move slowely over towards the white side until it matches the other wake.

Thank you "stangkillass" thats a good point with the 2001's. I learned that pretty quick after I got my 2001. I have had everybody go to that side where the boat is leaning in the water alot and it still seemd to make little to no difference. Could it be the rudder is at a tilt or the prop or somthing?

Was looking for this post and glad I found it. Just bought a 2021 GS 210 Super Air. New to the wakeboard world and gave wakesurfing a try the last couple weekends. Apologies if this is a dumb question that’s an easy fix.

on the standard wakesurf setting, it fills all 3 tanks full so 1500 lbs. it just wasn’t making a big enough or long enough wake to be able to drop the rope. This is surprise as I would think the standard setting on this boat would work for a beginner wake surfer.

we messed with the NSS Settings (surfer icon with left and right arrows) and got a really clean, curling wake on the starboard side when we had NSS set to starboard and drained the front tank. When we change no other settings other than NSS to port side, the port side wake is still poor. Wondering if there is an issue with the port side surf gate not deploying? Seems like the same settings with just NSS switched should work.

none of us surf goofy so we basically have a perfect wake surf setting for lefties or goofy footers.

Prop rotation will push the rear end of the boat. like a surf gate does, as follows:

V-Drive LH/pulls stern left - Clean Port Wake (Passenger)
Direct Drive RH pulls stern right - Clean Starboard (Driver)

So to clean up the naturally opposite wake you have to work a bit harder, add weight to the clean side and maybe get a little more push from the gate.

I talked to ACME about this, I wanted less side pull, & torque twisting the hull attitude. They "never heard of it" being an issue. After some yakking about it, they suggested lower pitch bigger diameter, which makes sense = more backward thrust & less of a digger on the side.

The transom plate system is pretty effective. It drags back the opposite side to:
Starboard Gate deployed, turns the boat right and works with a LH prop
Port Gate deployed turns the boat left and works against a LH prop

You can deploy the gates and feel how much plate is exposed. I am running about 20-22 Sq inches on my "FMSS" plates ( would say that is minimum)
