If you said Coors I'd be 2/2. We have an '88 2001 and it is just an awesome boat. Does everything pretty **** well.

    To the OP.
Get the 206 with a tower. Forget the hard tank it's a waste of space. Throw extra bodies back there instead. The ski wakes are still awesome and your kids won't know the difference. Actually, I think they'll learn and progress faster without having to jump a sacked out knee high wake.

The tower and ballast sure would help, but the most important point is have this tourney level ski wake offered by none other than the 196. Add to the fact that gas prices will put pressure on people towards buying smaller boats.

That's the market segment that CC might be missing, at the benefit of MC with their X-7.
I am a slalom course skier and a wakeboader. I have a 1997 196. I have ran 2 @ 32 off and I can land back rolls and scarecrows when it is loaded up. Not much room with the sacs in, but I just can't affore an SAN. I have a fly high x pole instead of a tower. As much as I and my kids love to wakeboard, I will still always keep the motor in the middle for the course days.

If I had my boat of choice................206 all the way!

Loud and clear. Back in 03 they had the spider tower for the 196. I really liked the looks of the streamlined tower and it worked fine to get that extra lift, but it was somewhat of a bother to the driver and passengers, especially while getting in and out of the seats. Point is, I'll bet you can still find the spider tower that fits on the 196's and then you could just get some aftermarket sacks. I do hear what you're saying though that MC has a stock boat ready to go with those features. Just as a joke, but they probably only sell 10 of them a year...that's probably why CC doesn't bother.

My local dealer told me he had a spyder tower if anyone is interested in buying one.

Yeah, it's called a 206 with a tower. I've got one without a tower. Great family boat, awesome wake at slalom speed. When my kids get bigger I'll put a tower on it. As far as wake, if you want something bigger just call my brother. I call him the Fat Sac. He'll sit in the back and plump out the wake.

As fast as an airplane can fly...
Just free room and board, which will bankrupt you! Prob. cheaper to have two boats...
