    First Havasu Trip

    Hey everyone,

I have been on this site for a a little while, it seems like a great source for info. I was wondering if there is anyone that can help me out. I have a 07 210, and I am preparing for my first major trip. I am going to Havasu for the week, I was wondering how to prepare? This is a list of questions I have any help would be greatly appreciated:

    - What maintenance if any should I have done to the trailer or boat? It had its 25hr service and only has 35 hrs on it.
    - What spare parts should I take? (i.e. prop, impeller, ect...)
    - When I am there is it better to store it at a slip of take it out and clean it everyday?
    - Should I worry about those mussle problem that they have?
    - I am at the Nautical Inn, where should I ride?
    - Anything else?

Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it!

Check tire pressure for sure, being a newer boat the bearings should be set.

Extra Prop, Impeller, $ for Gas.

You're there to enjoy it, could be a waste of time to pull it in and out of the water everyday, assuming good weather, etc. If you think you'll be worried about it down on the slip at night, just pull it out so that you can have a good night sleep knowing that your baby is safe.

    Sounds like a great time.

I took a new boat to Redfish Lake, ID for a 4 day vacation http://www.redfishlake.com/. First morning, 6:30 AM, first skier, first set...I slammed over a rock in the water, trashed the prop. Redfish is deceiving because the water is so so clear that you can literally see every detail at the bottom even at 20-30 ft deep. I could tell that it was shallow, but didn't think it was that shallow. At any rate, an extra prop for $300+ was the best thing I brought on that trip. My family took a picture of me holding a box of "lucky charms" for breakfast.

"Anything else?"....Bring more beer and sunscreen than you will think you need. Havasu is a big time party atmosphere.

Sorry kinger, I've been there a handful of times...always for the party. The only advice i can give you is start riding early and end up at the sandbar(not shortie friendly if you have any in tow). Havasusprings at the far end is best bet for less traffic and better water. Its a big lake, once the rollers start...

            Hey Zapada

Hey Zapada, I noticed you are from SV. I live in Blackfoot, spend a lot of time on Baldy in the winter. Where do you ski?

              Extra Prop
This may be a no-brainer, but I'll mention it anyway: make sure you also have what tools you need to change out the prop.

                qstufflebeam,

I've skied Jensen's Grove and the diversion dam many o' times. I love the area. There are a couple of private lakes up here in the valley and down by gannett. Obvious a lot of people ski redfish, stanley. Anderson Ranch near Mtn. Home is another popular spot. We'll have to chat more. Great to meet people near by.

                  RE: Hey Zapada

Check your trailer hubs and make sure they're lubed. Check and fill your spare tire, sometimes they leak, and just make sure pressure is good. I like to bring my DeWalt Drill with chucks in it in case I need to change something out, plus a tool box with everything I might need. It's better to bring it and not need it than the alternative. I have an older boat, and I've never needed it, but when I first got it I bought 2 sets of the following: impeller, belts, cap and rotor, Drain plug, and a bilge pump. I replaced everything, and then I keep a set in a tool box in there just in case. Then if I need something I replace it and head to the store and get a new one for my storehouse. It works pretty well. Nothing like needing one of those and not having it with you, getting towed, pulling out, heading to the store, etc. etc. etc. I do need to get a prop, though...

                    Zapad,

Let me know when your in the area. We maintain the course out at the diversion and at Jensen Grove. I have skied over at Black Butte Ranch many times.

Bring a lot of Marti Gras beads and you will get a good show of Girls Gone Wild. The ladies like those at Havasu. Fun lake for sure but avoid Copper Canyon with YOUR boat unless you like 483 drunk twenty-somethings hammering all over it. But definitely go check it out on someone else's boat.
