        RE: MUST READ

I believe what Skiswm is saying is the the Super Sport Nautique, which became the Super Air/ SAN/ 210 is probably the classic wakeboard boat of all time, and it happened by accident somewhat. CC created a family ski VDrive to compete with Cobalt and other luxury I/Os, as well as the Maristar line from MC. Even when CC introduced it's wakeboard specific boat, it tried the direct drive Pro Air Nautique. It just so happened that it already had the best hull for wakeboarding already in its lineup in the form of the Super Sport hull.

I guess the way I look at it, the vast majority of us are posers in some sense. There are very few who have the skills to live up to a top flight wakeboard boat; very few who have the skills to live up to a top flight slalom boat; very few can drive a Porsche to its capabilities; very few ever push a 4 wheel drive to its capability; there are very few who can cook well enough to need a gourmet kitchen; very few need top of the line snow skis, wakeboards, tennis rackets, golf clubs, or whatever else it might be. You get the idea.

I don't get so concerned about people, including me who tend to buy the best, or buy over their skill level. If you have the money, and that's what you want, great. I'm a lot more concerned about the large number of people who don't have the money, and buy these things anyway. If you want proof look at the housing foreclosure rate across the US, and repossession rate of luxury cars, boats, yachts, RVs, etc.

I totally agree with Damador. I would have bought a Cobalt, which is a nice boat, if I primarily was a tuber or occasionl skier / boarder, not a Nautique. Nothing against using your boat for whatever activity you wish, but on my lake, the tuber's are sofa-king annoying. These a-holes come back in to the coves and completely mess up the water. If you're a tuber and that's your thing, cool...just stay in the middle of the channel, there's no need to mess up the water for a friggin tube. If you want to play in soft water, get some coordination and learn how to board or ski.

Ok well in fear of getting myself into an argument in which maybe a losing battle I have to say I somewhat agree with Damador. Few things aggravate me more than when I see totally decked out wakeboard boats (nautique or other) and all they do is tube or what we have deemed STEREO-BOARDERS (wakeboard boat owner with killer stereos and all they do is ride around never boarding and just foolishly ripping up the water for people who actually care to ride) Now I agree with a persons right to use their money however they please and sure if you want to pull tubers why not. Maybe its envy and jealousy when I'm trying to throw some spins and inverts behind my sacked out 1990 Sport nautique and then some weekend wally goes cruising by at max wake speed in his 90K wakeboard boat and finishes off what's left of the only decent water on the lake with some classy doughnuts while bumping lil John and the ying yang twins. Just a rant but yes I think there should be etiquette classes for all inboard purchases and a signed contract that skiers and boarders should get a smooth water right-of-way before tubers can kill the glass. In my mind tubers should head to the main lake where it is already rough and short cut the process of ripping up all the smooth water in the wind protected bays.

Over on PlanetTuber Damodor must be on their 10 most wanted list!!! Don't take the industry so serious on how - why - or where you must use a specific type of boat. Before wife and kids, I was gung ho slalom, then kneeboard. Now it's have fun in what-ever form I can on the water.

I think that all of us who seek out the good water for Skiing or boarding get upset with the tubbers who mess up the water. I have never stopped and thought that if the boat was an inboard and not an I\O it changed the way I felt. I was mad either way. The logic that just inboard owners should have courtesy on the water is a little backwards. Should't any boat owner have the same courtesy. I can image the family out on the lake for the day that deals with load stereos and big wakes get's a little frustrated dealing with that as well as the enjoy there lunch in a quit cove with little wind and all glass. I also am one who owns a sport nautique with a tower and seldom board,. I ski often and surf. I buy a nautique because of the benifits of the inboard with a quility boat and there are times we go to the lake just to be on the lake and swim with the kids. I am sure people may say that is a waste of an inboard however it works for us. If some one wants to spend 60k on a nautique to tube or a 60k cobalt to do the same then i look at it a lot like BHK. If they can afford it then enjoy the day on the lake just be respectfull of me and my space and i will do the same. I imagine the driver of the nautique tuber has a great time driving that boat.

There are 2 different points being made in this thread. The first is that tubers should not own a cc because it is built specifically for skiing/wakeboarding and that if you are not a top level ski/wakeboarder then you should not be towed/drive one. BS! Everybody on this site talks about cc being the best boat around. If you can afford it why wouldn't someone want the best boat around no matter if they are using it for wb or tubing? ****, I think inboards are safer and more family oriented anyways. According to Damador's theory you are a "poser" if you tube behind a cc, drive a jeep and don't spend your time off-roading, wear running shoes and can't run sub 4 minute miles. You should be happy that people recognize quality and support the company we all seem to care so much about.

The second topic is etiquette. No matter if you are driving an i/o, fishing boat, jet ski, or inboard if someone is skiing/wakeboarding stay out of their water. My lake is filled with tubers and jet skiers that ride circles in the calm water just to create waves to jump all the while there are waves already waiting for them out in the center of the lake. I have run-ins almost every weekend while we are slaloming due to lack of etiquette by others.

Be respectful and smile at anyone driving a cc. They are helping keep cc going just as much as you.

                              RE: MUST READ

Bottom line is people realize how awesome Correct Craft boats are and want one also even though they don't really know how to ski/wakeboard, etc. Some buy inboards other than correct craft and don't realize they aren't as good quality. They don't get up early in the morning to ski/foot/board on glass like we do (thank goodness). By the time they get out the water is rough and tubing is usually all they can handle. I wish there were a rule on our lake banning tubing before noon. They really don't have a clue either about courtesy to skiers. How often have you been ready to start a skier and a jet ski or other boater will drive around you? We should take the responsiblity of educating these fellow boaters either when we sell them our used boat or see them/hang out with them at the lake.

I heard Ken Meloon sold it recently, but if I were him, I would have made sure there weren't anything but CC boats in my back yard!
