NON BOATERS SUCK! Complaint Dept.

Anyone having bad luck with non-boat owning friends? I am finding out lately that they have NO clue as to all the cost, time, and sweat required to take a boat out as well as all the behind the scenes stuff. Now at the last minute I have had 2 sets of friends pull out at the last minute for weekend trips out on the boat recently. Owell, thanks to everyone for hearing me complain! Any boaters in the Dayton, OH area?

Okay, I'll join in. Over the past month I have been trying to get out after work as often as possible. Twice I have had to wait at the dock for almost an hour for the people who were supposed to meet me to arrive. If you can't get there on time, DON'T SAY YOU'RE COMING! It is late enough in the day already. Don't waste what's left of the daylight!

I feel for ya ffmedic...I think we've all been there. For our guests, they know to show up on time or they'll be left behind.

The cliche, "he who has the most toys, wins, " was an incomplete.

It should be "he who has the most toys wins: the chance to spend hours getting the toys ready to play, hours cleaning up after everyone leaves, hours repairing the damage caused by others, hours being a polite host: lunch, drinks, chairs, toys for the adults and their children, and extra hours at work to pay for the: gas, insurance, repairs, maintenance and replacement cost."

None of this was a problem for me until the guests started waking up at 10:00AM, right when the wind picks up for the day. Always the southern debutante wife refused to leave before she served breakfast to our guests.

She's now limited to 2 weekend guests per summer with 1 provisional.

I here all of you, but I find the "clean-up" a lot more difficult and frustrating than actually "preparing" the boat for the event. I just can't stand the ones who step in the mud on dock and then take two steps on the deck, then on the seat, and then a final hop onto the floor, as if the mud and dirt came out by itself. And worse than that, on the beaches, when people get their feet wet, then get them sandy, and then get into the boat... thats just impossible to get out. This is when the snap-in-carpet on the new 211s come in real handy!

I'm up in Piqua and work in Vandalia. I don't get out on week days since I don't get off work until 5 and I can't bring the boat to work (not enough parking). By the time I get home, hook up the boat and head back out to a lake the sun is already starting to set :evil: If you're going out on a week night and need a third let me know. I'll be there if I say I'm going to be... or I'll have a cast or a brand new vehicle the next time I talk to you!

On the weekends you can catch me and my crew out on CJ Brown in Springfield or Indian Lake by Bellefontaine. Drop me a message if you want to go out some time. I've got a red and white 92' open bow nautique with an extended pylon.

**** icap. your guests get up early some of mine dont roll out of bed until noon or later. gotta club every night! and shut it down. usualy when its clean up time they just stand there and watch and have a beer. i would rather them go home then just watching me do everything

I'd rather most not help me clean up. I have a system and usually have to go back over that part of the boat a well meaning guest has helped on.

I'm like that also. My dad calls me "anal" all the time. I guess it's true. I don't like having people "try" to help cleanup my boat either, I just wish they would be a little more careful in trying to not make it so dirty in the first place... see the difference?? :?

I must have missed it - and nothing meant by the remark, just chiming in on the "neat freak" concept.

Byt the way I tried this new Wax as you dry spray by Eagle One - it's good stuff and smells good too. Dealer recommended it, hope it does no harm long term.
