here are some shots of the boat that def needs some work. I flipped up the engine cover and wala...no engine :???: This may be a project well out of my reach, what do you guys think? The hull itself looks to be in good shape with the exception of cosmetics.

Any idea what year this is? Is it def a 2001 nautique?

Its definately a 2001 hull and would appear to be a 83 or 84 model. The dash has been painted and the guages are mix matched. If you could get it for pretty cheap a motor can be had. Its definately a project. Does it have all the interior parts?

Let me know your thoughts...the boat obviously needs a complete overhaul and an engine to boot. I may be biting off more than I can chew with this animal... What are some estimations cost wise if I were to do all the labor myself and get creative on the refurb? I'm not looking to make it stock again so a 100% refurb is not my plan...my plan is to make it a wake boat but redo it from the ground up.

The guy still hasn't responded to me but he is aware that I was interested... not sure if he would want anything for it or not. At this stage, I don't think I would pay anything for it... Let me know what you guys think.

There appears to be little original in the boat besides the windshield and (broken) swim deck, and the ski pylon... actually the prop/strut / rudder look ok except for the fiberglass "repairs" around them... in any case that boat needs literally everything. I think you'd be into the boat for more money than a decent running boat, even if you start for free... hate to say it and burst your bubble but that's my take. PS you can find the year by the last 2 digits on the HIN stamped on the transom, top right.

I think that's a "landfill nautique". Even the rudder is mismatched. Looks like major gel/hull damage at the rudder port and strut. Not much, if anything, is still original on that boat.

there has been an extensive amount of work done in the prop/rudder area...... my decision would be based on whether or not the repairs look to be up to par..... otherwise, i think u'll be better off spending the cash on fair/good condition boat

As much as it breaks my heart to say it, I have to agree. You would end up spending twice as much as the boat is worth just to get it functioning- and that assumes your time (and lots of it) as well as the boat itself were free.

Ive taken in some pretty ugly CC's, but I would pass on this particular boat, no doubt.

Wow...good find man, that's right down the street from me... That's more my price range at the moment...if it's a sound boat that could be well worth it. A little cosmetic work and it could be a great boat..
