    Full tower/boat locking cover?

Hope this is the right forum for this... The stock cover that came with my 211 is a PITA (getting 3 poles up in the middle, untieing/tieing ropes around towers, closing up velcro, etc.). Also leaves tower speakers enticing to thieves, tower enticing to birds, and platform enticing to ducks.

So, I'm thinking a cover that goes over the entire tower, lips under the swim platform and bow, and uses a cable lock might be easier to put up and take down and would also provide some extra security. Anyone done this? Is there a reason why I shouldn't?

I might be intersted in your cover if you want to sell it.

That seems like it may have to be a custom job. But the good news is there are tons of canvas specialist around and most are somewhat reasonably priced.

Mike, it's yours if I get a new one. Haven't seen anything like what I'm thinking about in our marina or elsewhere which kinda makes me think there's something wrong with my thinking on it.

Quite a few covers in Discovery bay that go over the tower. Don't know that I've ever seen one using a cable and lock. These covers are also a PITA to put on because that's a lot of canvas, they are heavy, and it's not the easiest thing to go up an over the tower. Also, quite susceptible to tears in high winds. Nevertheless, functional in that they cover the tower, speakers, lights, racks, etc. BKH

I would have to agree with bk that that much cover would be pretty hard to handle, you could possibly use a second cover for the tower. As for protecting against thieft, out of sight out of mind is probably OK but most thieves wouldn't thick twice about slicing your nice new fancy expensive custom cover. Cable locks will just keep "the honest people out" as they say.
I don't use poles with my cover, it is held up in the centre by shock cord which hooks on the tower tow point.
