found this out by accident and it has made a big difference with the wake off my 211.

full ballast (rear tanks and belly)
additional weight in the bow (not the belly) i use a 300 lb flyhigh sack on the bow floor.

i also use the pop product bags (16) but have really noticed a huge difference when extra weight is in the bow (not to mention the boat planes easier) additional weight in the belly flattens out the wake.

like anything ymmv.

Can you open the locker when the bag is full?

I think I remember you saying you put 4 PP bags on top of each rear tank, do you move the remaining 8 side to side or are you always surfing on one side?

Mikeski-for wakeboarding. The extra 300 lbs on the floor of the bow makes a huge difference (one or peeps in the bow helps even more). Adding more weight to the ski locker really flattens out the wake.

For wakeboarding with the pop bags-
4 - each rear compartment (2x2 mid next to engine)
3 - each side of the bow pushed back
2 - in the cabin to move around

I would still run the extra 300 lb sack on the floor of the bow with full factory ballast even if i didnt have the pop product bags. Makes a huge difference (I would suspect since most people sit in the back of the boat)

When fully loaded we are at 1700 lbs ballast for wakeboarding at 23-24 mph and about the same for surfing @ 12mph. The wake is big, firm, and kicks !!

Just rec'd 400# in pop-products and was going to ask for a suggestion on where to place them. I'd seen your old posts and was going to follow your pattern with what I have. At this time I don't have a fat-sac. For WB, where would you put ten pop bags and with what ballast in rear/belly? Thanks.

update - weighting a 211

Even adding just 400# made a substantial difference.

Just had a WB session with 120# in the aft of each of the stern lockers and 160# in the forward part of the ski locker. Factory ballast (3) full.

POP! Very firm and clean wake.

1. For WB, should the 160 be even further forward (under the bow seat in the nose)? How will that affect the wake - wil it become less steep and more rampy?

2. With the exception of long trailer hauls, is storing the pop bags on board OK?

I think it's fine. I have 400lbs of Pop bags and I keep them in my boat year round. I only trailer once or twice a year, but when I do I move all the bags into the cabin floor area over the axels.

clubmyke, which bag are you using in the bow?

Does anyone know which sacs fit where in the 211? Will the W711 bow sac fit under the seats (I'm assuming not)? Best sac for aft port under the transom walk a 708 wedge?

I need to take a slightly different approach since I still slalom, and use the ski locker to store skis. I just increased my pop-bag count to 7 - 40's, just picked up a pair of 540lb sacks in addition to the 500lb sack I rarely used because my pump was garbage, the Tsunami pump is also on the way. I might also plumb in a fixed fill pump since my local sherriff has a woody for guys idling from the ramp while holding pumps over the side. For surfing, I will probably put one 540 all the way forward down in the bow/pass-thru and the other on the rear walk through, move the pop bags around under the passenger seat until it looks good. I guess I will need to break out the duct tape to cover the side vent.

I have a 440# fat sac I usually place in the transom walkthrough when I'm surfing (with port/belly full) which generates a nice surf wake. Are you saying that taking that same bag and putting it in the bow would make a better wakeboard wake?

How would you characterize the difference between running the factory ballast and adding 400# to the bow?

I have always run a large sack in the front of the boat....It really help with the wake...My setup is almost identical to ClubMyke. I have a few less Pop bags, so I have to use the Fly High Wedge sack in the back

Update - Went out surfing today with some weight on board.

Regular, 500lb sack in the bow against the port side, 500lb sack in the rear walk through, 280lbs of pop bags in under the passenger seat, port tank full, starboard tank empty, belly tank full, port vent taped closed. The wake was quite big, not quite as long as the pro-surfers Centurion Enzo running 1300lbs on the port side but not far off. Handling was tough, boat made a hard right when you throttled back. Took on some water over the bow, over the side and over the transom. I would not recommend this setup if you are not a very skilled driver in a semi-controlled environment, evasive maneuvers would be impossible.
