Help with valuation of 1996 Ski Nautique

Hi you guys. I am toying with the idea of selling my boat. I'm an airline pilot that is sitting pretty close to the bottom of the seniority list. My company is merging with another airline and it is very nerve racking to say the least.

I'm curious to see what the community thinks it will bring.

Here is my website that I created for it....

    http://www.944turbo1986.com/Main.html

It's as close to perfect that I could get with the age of the boat. It is my favorite hull design purely on looks. I don't want to sell it, but if I have to I would like to know how much my emergency fund will grow...

Also, never mind the horrible narration on my video. I'm not the best in the arts...

    Thanks.

Very nice boat and trailer. . I would tend to think somewhere in the $16-17k range myself considering the low hours, condition and new trailer.

Very nice boat. I wouldn't sell it at all. Find somewhere else to make the sacrifice. You'll just be giving someone a great deal on a spectacular boat.

            Agree with zapada.

If you do sell, please put it on ebay and give us all a chance to duke it out.

Interesting, my post was deleted... I posted what I honestly thought the boat was worth, and what it would sell for, based on what I sold my own very similar boat for a few years ago. I figured this thread was trying to help the guy price boat to sell, not artificial inflation of expectations.

Sure it's a clean very low hour boat but it's a pre TSC hull. It's also August right, not much time left this summer to get the boat sold.... been there.

Looks like Texas is the place to sell used boats???

I don't want to sell it, but may have to. We just don't use it as much as I would like to right now. I'll try ebay and craigslist, not in a hurry to sell so I won't settle. It's owned outright, no payments, except to the insurance company. She also stays in my garage so no cost there (except my wife who cannot park in the garage without climbing over the boat to get to the door). It's my favorite hull, prettier than TSC1 (no need for that capability at my level), TSC2 & 3 is pretty though. My opinion of course.

                      Thanks for the comments guys!

                      Regards,

                      Hunt

Allow me to elaborate on my previous post. You've done such a great job maintaining the boat that it should be easy to sell once you find the buyer, but I say you should keep the boat because you'll never get out of it what you think it should be worth. Mikeski said it right...although super clean, it is a 96. A person can find a much newer boat in great shape for $20k. Let's face it, most Nautique owners are going to try thier best to keep thier boats in prestine condition. If you want to sell it...$13k

For that price, no won't sell it. I'll put 400 hours on it and sell it for that.

Sorry Jeff, maybe my post didn't go through.

So I will try to post my opinion on TRUE value again.

deducts - Pre TSC, no perfect pass (+$300 if it does have it), purple time stamped color
adders - new trailer, low hours

There are a couple nice TSC boats in the for sale section in the sub $16k range. I sold my 1995 with PP, Tower, big stereo, built in ballast pumps, 580 hours, etc, for $16.9k in 2004. It was perfect, cleaner than my 2005 was when I picked it up off the showroom floor. That was four years ago.

Everything considered I would not pay a dime over $14k, there are just too many other better deals out there. Unfortunately there are lots of people in dire need to sell their boats, the current market prices reflect this desperation.

Mikeski, I appreciate your opinion on this subject. I don't think that is the market that the boat is in. When I was searching I was looking for boats that were NOT modded. PP excluded of course. Tower was a definate no no for me. I have seen pre TSCs go higher on ebay and on craigslist (emailed them when they sold).

I was involved in the Porsche online community as well, they are bargain hunters there so the same thought process must transfer to here. I should know better I suppose.

Anyways guys, thanks for the info. I'll see what the market will bear and if I don't like it, I'll keep it and enjoy it.
