I guess I should add that im looking at purchacing a used 236, but it doesnt have the belly tank, only the rear tanks. I'm pretty handy, installed Perfect Pass, and my own ballast system in my current boat, but im not sure if the tanks go in before the floor goes on during manufacturing.

I could probably add a custom sack instead. The guague wouldnt work. My only worry there is it would be surrounding the gas tank right? I think it would be better to have a rigid tank so as not to risk crushing the gas tank.

    any help would be appreciated.

Dizzy how much is the 236 you are looking at I am trying to sell mine and am wondering what others are selling for. as far as the tank, i do not think it can be added because it is u shaped and is put in i believe before the top section is added. this weekend i will try to pull the carpet out of mine abd see how the floor removes and see if it looks possible.

I think it can be added and that it isn't alot of work in a 236. It seems that you can unscrew the bottom really easy between the seats. The fuel tank is under it and you have to take that one out. Assemble the ballast tank holders to the bottom and place the ballast tank through the fuel tank opening. Install the fuel tank and everything should be alright. It isn't an hour work, but it should be a fun saturday job imho. But check it with your dealer first!! I'm not sure if it's possible, it just looks like it can be done.

Sounds like one of those projects that makes you question why you wanted it so bad after a day and it won't all come back together like you thought.

I think you need to find another boat...

Re: add belly tank to a 236?

I just checked into this a couple of days ago.

cc said the tank, hoses, and pumps add about 225#s and filled w/ h2o another 250#s approx. Also, cc said it uses up some of the locker space but you are left with space right under the door.

I decided to try some pop products bags, we looking forward to getting them so the weight can be moved around as needed.

I might still add belly tank but would like to see one in a boat 1st. also this will add some #s we can not remove when barefooting.

as always trade offs (+ and -).
