mbo convert, just bought a SAN

first post, I have just put a deposit on a 2003 SAN, needless to say I am pretty excited, there aren't too many of them out in Australia yet. Just got to sell my Response now. Looks like you guys have plenty of content on the site, plenty to read over the next couple of weeks.

          Nautiqueman,

I wont wait a month, thoroughly enjoyed my first day on the water with it.

I didn't get any manuals with the boat, so this site has really helped, I have plenty of reading to do now.

                    SGY,

I was having a hard time, deciding on which manufactor and model. I looked at the big 3 @ the local baot show.

The MC had the first chance, as I purchased a Prostar from him several years ago. I spent serveral hours at the boat show and was unable to hook up with the MC guy (very busy). He went on vacation shortly after this.

The CC dealer also sells Malibus (Chessie Marine). This made comparing them much easier. They are a 2 hour drive away, each way.

My decision came down to a few factors, MONEY probably being the biggest. At the open house this spring, Chessie had a 216, a used 206, a Response LXi and serval wakeboarding baots. When I drove the LXi last, and I thought this was one bad as* boat. I loved the handling of the boat. I liked the thought of the wedge vs CC and pumps and sacs. Maybe because the 206 had a problem filling up one of its sacs. Also, I believe I was able to get more boat for the money with malibu vs CC. We ordered an LXi that afternoon. If I remember correctly, the dealer had slots available with mailbu and cc may have taken longer to get (and it was already late April).

                    I love my RLXi.

Would I have been happy with a CC. I am absolutly sure I would be. Who knows, I may start window shopping at the spring boat shows, and see something that fits my familys needs better. More room and more of a all around baot vs a hardcore sking boat.

Congrats on the LXI. It is indeed a sweet boat. Like you, I love to shop for boats. I told my wife that I'd like to look for a 206 with the ZR-6 motor. I think she's looking for a good attorney.

                      Take care,

I still think it is much cheaper to trade boats than the wife. Shop for the boat.

I have had 17 Nautiques and 1 wife.

I have had 1 Nautique and 2 wives - a good Nautique is much easier to find than a good attorney or good wife. All Nautiques are pretty much good ones and they come with a great warranty - you know, so when they don't work you can take 'em back!

Just kiddin' honey - I love you!!
