    Help with wake makin'

For the life of me, I am unable to get a decent wake for surfing or wakeboarding. I am at the end of my rope in trying to produce a decent wake, so any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. here is my setup:

    1994 SN
    Monster Tower
    1200 lb sofa in rear
750 lb sac in bow (have moved to one side also)

When wakeboarding, there is a fine line between the right speed and when the boat planes out to no wake. This makes it difficult to maintain the right speed and wake.

For surfing, it seems as if there is this huge prop spray in the middle that blows out any wake.

I am almost certain that the shape of the hull is the culprit, and makes it nearly impossible to make a wake. Any help appreciated.

I am not an expert - but maybe you need a lower pitched prop to give you more RPM at the slower speeds. Then you might be able to keep better speed control. Especially if you have PP.

You'll also need to weight one side more than the other for surfing. (the side you want to surf on)
How 'bout a little reverse action...

Once you do get the wake surf-able, you are going to likely need a pretty good sized board, not one of the smaller trick style boards.

Get the weithg out of the front for surfing. No matter how many people told me to put weight in the front, I couldnt get a surfable wake to save my life. I have the rear seat out and a 750 sack across the back, biased to one side, a 440 side sac right in front of it, again biased to one side (at least 1/2 full), and the other side sac running full up the side of the engine butting up to the other sacs. It was honestly the only way I could make it work. start with that and go from there. I have a stock prop and am running 1960-2000 rpms. Good luck.

It probably depends what kind of boat but I think you and Don have similar boats right? I'd give it a try.

Thanks for the replys. I initially started with the 750 sac in the rear with no luck. I then purchased the 1200 sofa along with the 750 on the side, still did not create a wake for surfing. It is hard to explain what is happening, I am going to try and get some pics of it. There is this wall of spray in the center of the wake that is about chest high. It ruins the smooth transition of the underlying wake and keeps you from getting in the sweet spot. It is difficult to drive this boat at a steady speed without PP, but I do not want to spend the money on one if the boat is unable to make a wake. Thanks for advice, I will try the suggestions next time out.
