I have an Air 216 and the slalom wake is great! We typically run 15 off at 32-36 and the wake isn't noticeable. I haven't slalomed a 196 in a long time to compare but I don't have any complaints about the 216.

Just a thought...is it possible to add a jump seat to a 196? Say behind the driver? Add some ski racks to the side of the boat or even a tower and you might have an inexpensive solution. I have no idea what the wake would be like with three kids and a driver.

        Ski/Wakeboard racks that don't require a tower.

Thanks, for the suggestion chief. I really like the looks of the liquid courage racks. The only problem is that my boat doesn't have any cleats to mount the racks to. I guess I could add some cleats, but I am one who hates drilling into the boat, unless someone can put me at ease about this. If I could get the gear off of the floor an on some racks, I have no problem making the kids sit on the floor. I like your train of thought. This would be way cheaper than buying another boat especially when this one is in perfect condition.

Cleats are your friend...I added a pair of rear cleats (already had midship). I will never regret it. Make sure they are pop-up.

Todd let me know what you do and take some photos!! I will probably rig something up over the winter for next spring. Another idea I heard of was using one of those handicapped steel hand rails as a base to screw onto the boat. Probably available in different sizes and then attach a ski rack to it... as well I may try and locate a company that can bend aluminum and make me a mini rack, hoping it will be a lot cheaper than buying something from one of these bling manufacturers.

I am in the same boat  My family has outgrown our 93SN, so today I am going to look at a 99 Super Sport listed for $18,500. Pictures look good, but tell a 1000 lies. Options are: PP, Auto ballast system, hot and cold shower (useless in TX), depth meter, launch control system (?), dual axle trailer, aftermarket tower.

Price seems right, just need figure out what my 93 SN is worth?
