Zero off, stargazer on a 07 196?

What's the latest word on this? Is it a possible/simple/inexpensive process to convert from a PP Digital pro to a GPS-type speed control? This is for a 2007 Ski 196.

PP has a GPS upgrade. I think it runs about $400

Converting to ZO in a 2007 MAY require replacement of the ECU. I had to do that in my '07 236.

Which version of Digital Pro do you have? If you have the wide gauge already, the upgrade is about $400 and install takes less than 15 minutes (replace master module and install gps antenna and run wiring to the module). If you don't have a wide gauge, add $199 give or take for that. But since it's a 2007, I'm assuming you already have the gauge.

Yeah, I do have the wide guage. Thanks for the info.

In doing further research, I noticed that you still need to enter the crew weight with the PP Stargazer. I find this a little surprising, as I thought the whole purpose was to avoid asking those embarassing questions to your crew!

Keep in mind that ZO will be the only speed control unit used at tournaments starting next year, and will be installed in all 09 (i think)and later towboats, if this matters to you.

Unless you have a short setup, you can ballpark crew weight and the system will adjust. The reason for inputing it in SG is to allow the system to lock in as quickly as possible.
