Rick, It's funny how the name Nautique has become the term allot (especially the younger group) of people now use. Many a time I have to refer to the Nautique name when talking about Correct Crafts before the person understands what boat I'm speaking of. Somewhere back in the early days of the Nautique, I have a feeling that corporate marketing decided to push the name and it stuck. I personally feel it's a shame that the Correct Craft company name is being forgotten especially on the corporate level. It very well be, that Saceone was refering to the oldest Correct Craft!!!

You know, it's pretty funny. When I got my title I got into a big argument with the state that my boat's manufacturer is correct craft and the model is a Ski Nautique 2001. The state that it's a Ski Nautique manufacturer and that the model is 2001. hmmm...

My 1997 Ski Nautique has over 2245 hours on it. I have yet to find a local Correct Craft boat that has more hours.

It seemed to me that with the model year 2000 boats, Correct Craft really downplayed the "Correct Craft" and started to emphasize "Nautiques". The same year we got the "new and improved" digital Teleflex gauges, and they redid the graphics with the stylized "N".

Three bad decisions in my opinion.

I really think the phrase "Correct Craft since 1925" should be made more prominent, again.

I know Wakeslayer has a 67 Ski Nautique, and TRBenj has a SN from the late 60s as well.

If we're off "nautiques" and on to Correct Craft, there are some old ones on CCFan. One
guys has a 1949 CC Dart. Very nice find. I'ts operational and I've seen it in the water at
one of the CCfan reunions. Another is in the middle of a restore on a 55 Hurricane, which is
a very rare CC boat. There are quite a few with models from the 50s, and 60s on that site.

My 1967 Ski Nautique just got it's last stringer installed yesterday. Tim's is also a 67. You do not see too many older than that. There was I think a 63 at the Green Lake reunion, and I am pretty sure a 1961 at the Masters in GA.

My 67 will hopefully be back on the water in June 2011. New stringers, floor, total engine job stroking the oringal 318 to a 349. all body work, interior etc.

It is a labor of love with these old boats. You kinda have to have a screw loose to tackle it. But I love the project and the end result.

The 1955 Hurricane Brian mentioned is an amazing boat that is being pretty much handcrafted back to original. Billy's 1949 Dart is also a great piece of history. There is another guy named Bud Sellers in FL that has an old Commuter, I believe, that is just gorgeous, all wood. His was repowered to a more modern engine from an old Gray Marine.

But I believe his point was number of hours, not actual age. I wouldn't think he would believe his 1997 was the oldest boat out there. Probably should have labeled it "highest hours" or something.
