    2003 Air 206

I am looking to buy the 2003 Air 206. I love the boat but.......I am a little scared that it might not meet my needs to Wake Board. I am a beginner and my wife skis like 2-3 times a year is all.

Will I outgrow the 206 as I develop? Can enough ballast be added to get a good wake?

    Really appreciate the help.

    RE: 2003 Air 206

The 206 will force you to have really good fundamentals. I suspect that most "good" wakeboarders could do all of the basic inverts and spins behind a 206. It will not allow you to be sloppy and still pull big tricks though like a larger wake will.

Eventually I will upgrade to a bigger boat, but for now, the 206 does everything I want it to for my family of five and we wakeboard, slalom, kneeboard, barefoot, and have even surfed on it.

LT, could you share how you have the ballast set up in your boat. I am looking to add weight to my 206 in the near future and any info would be appreciated.

I don't have it really dialed very well yet. I have a W705 fat sac that I can place in one of two places - either in the belly where the cooler is or behind the motor box.

I have found that I can do all my tricks with the stock ballast without the need for additional ballast.

If I put the sac in the belly the weight balance front to back is about 50/50 (because I can't fill the sac completely full in the belly) This makes the wake thicker, but not really taller. If I put it behind the motor box it does make it more vert, but the last time I put it there I got back in the boat thinking "wow that was cool, but it really didn't help me do more tricks".

I don't like putting the sac there because of space. I always have minimum of 5 people in the boat and usually more. One thing about the 206 is that there is really not alot of space to add weight and keep it hidden.
