    Removing "ski locker"?

Ok, not sure what to call it and searched for a previous thread but couldn't find anything. I want to remove the ski locker on the starboard side behind the driver to allow room for fat sacs next to the engine cover. Last night I removed all of the screws and explored under the carpet. I found that I have enough carpet to remove the wood and re-glue without having to re-carpet (i plan to re-carpet this winter). My question is: I'm not sure how the wood attaches to the hull. Is it fiberglass? It looks like foam. I tried scoring with a blade, but figured before I got too deep into this project I would ask someone who has removed theirs. Any help would be appreciated.

It's just glassed in, you can cut them out with a rotary cutting wheel in a dremel, just be careful not to cut too deep , too agressive and your through the side of the boat.

I'm getting ready to remove my ski lockers. What did you use to cut the glass?

            Andrew, yours was my inspiration...

As for cutting the glass, i scored mine with a utility knife about a dozen times before it was weak enough to remove. It was actually easier than using a grinder or cutting wheel. I then used a sharp chisel to smooth down the leftover glass.

Sacwake, and Andrew, please tell me that the girls in the avatar actually ride behind your boats. If they don't, as least indulge my fantasy that there is hope for getting someone that "easy on the eyes" riding behind my boat.

any girl u ever see on my avatar will be a reef girl.... the girls that ride behind my boat would have my head for having a pic of their "assets" on the internet

as long as ur boat is a nautique though, ur chances are good
