how is the wake on a 216 for wakeboarding with a few sacs? i am interested in getting one but not if i am going to forfeit a lot on wake. right i have a 2001 SAN. I know it will be a little mellower but i was hoping that with a like 3 sacs you can still get a nice wake. Seems like i can save a grip of money getting a newer one instead of a 210 and working on it would be so much easier. Does anyone have one in the tahoe or sac area that i could give a few bucks to try it out??? that would be killer.

I have ridden behind a friend's 216 with the tanks full and (5) people in the boat. the wake was OK, but my 03 210 with ballast tanks empty, quite frankly puts it to shame. Coming from a 210, you will be disappointed. I initially had interest in a DD because of maint., but I have found my SAN to be fairly easy to work on.
IMO, if wakeboarding and wake surfing are your thing you need to stick with a v-drive.2003 SAN (current)

You will probably not be satisfied with a 216 wake for boarding unless you REALLY weight one down. I've ridden behind a 216 team with stock ballast, and it's a small wake, much smaller than my Pro Air empty.
If you're getting into skiing, that's another discussion...2008 230 TE-ZR6

i might get into skiing one day but there are a few people i know with slalom boats, so does the 216 not even have as good of a wake as the original air nautiques? one thing i like to do is wake skate, it is nice to have a forgiving wake for that and to be able to ride like 18 or 19 mph, the wake behind my 210 is super washy at those speeds. But my number one priority is wakeboarding. if i were to get a 216 i would load it down with 2000 lbs. I would probably put in a ballast system similair to the guy that put the nice write up on this forum with the air nautique. Is the pop just not there? when i was in high school i had a 92 prostar 205 with a couple sacs and and some concrete buckets she put up a wake that a progressed quite a bit on. But now i am pretty spoiled with the 210. My friend has an 07 210 and although his wake doesnt quite have the "buck" mine does i still enjoy riding behind it. do you think the 216 could even compare to the 07 210 when it is super weighted?Boat: 2001 Nautique Super Sport
