J - I agree and would love to see pictures of everyone's 226s. See what you can do.

It sounds like you need a 340 Searay Sundancer with twin-screw 8.1l inboards and a 196 to tow behind it--best of both worlds.

I've had nothing but good experiences in the 226. Big, rooming, agile, love the walk-thru transom and it is a great party boat. Below is a link to my wife's blog. Scroll down a bit and you'll see a video from a trip we made with the 226. You'll see us surfing. At one point we had 14 adults, 2 kids and a dog. If you're going to be doing a lot of that then the ZR-6 is nice to have, otherwise the 340 is sufficient. The boat is very functional. Check out the video...

Not much on capacity numbers, huh. I agree it can probably hold it, though. My capacity of 9 is very roomy, especially when some are kids.

If I had absolutely no gear (or beer) in the boat, I can carry 12 people (according to the sticker) that weigh 167 pounds each!! I've never weighed my gear so I don't really know how much to subtract from my passengers.

Folks I went to examine the subject 226 in person today. To be honest, it was a waste of time. The boat was filthy and looked to have been left uncovered for the past few rain events. Seats had that dirtiness that you could try to rub out with your hand but was imbedded in the material...However, I took the opportunity to get a feel for the layout and other main features. Although very disappointed at the condition of the vessel, I really liked the boat itself. I guess the search continues...Thanks again for all of your input.
