    Stiff throttle on new nautique

Traded a MC for a new Nautique (08). Throttle seems really stiff getting out of Neutral and there isn't that 'click' that lets you know you're in that first idling gear. Is this normal on the Nautiques? Thanks.

RE: Stiff throttle on new nautique

I've never driven a MC, but my '08 220 is a lot more stiff than my '04 211. I don't recall a click either, I just wait until I can feel that slight vibration to know its in gear. It is what I'm used to though and I like it. Other than the throttle, how do you like the Nautique compared to the MC? Which MC did you have?

Had a 98 sportstar 19 (essentially the 190). I'm in Texas where there is always a breeze and it beat the **** out of us. I now (for the past week) have the ski nautique 206. Seems a lot smoother or less hollow sounding. Just feels more solid. The wind hasn't blown hardly at all since I bought it, so it's hard to tell for sure. Go figure. Thanks for the reply.

The click happens when going back to neutral.

Yup. No click into gear. I've notice the newer boats have stiffer throttles. My 05's throttle is stiffer than the 03 and 99 throttle. Don't really know why. Would love to figure this out.

Maybe it's a click from forcing it into forward gear without pulling the little ring up below the throttle? Only click on our '08 210 is when it going back into N.

funny thing...I had a 99 that was really smooth....and I drove a friends 2005 that was really stiff...but my 2007 seems very smooth for me. Maybe just my imagination?

Seems to be the luck of the draw, the throttle on my buddies 08 210 from new was very stiff. On my 08 the throttle is very light and smooth as it was on my 03 210 . It shouldn't be uncomfortable to operate, if it is have your dealer check it out? CC build a great boat, but IMO could still do a little better in the quality control department.

it takes time for the throttle cables to get broken it, then it will loosen quite a bit

It should be adjustable, although the dbw will never feel the same as a cable. A Friends 08 MC was terrible on delivery and its been adjusted to feel pretty good. I dont complain about it now when I drive it.

I "think" my 06 206 has a very slight detent when arriving at "in gear/no throttle" ...going both ways. Certainly, there is NO "click".

Thanks guys. I guess it is just something I'll get the feel of after a few more hours on the water.

I don't' think the DBW boats have cables. I believe I read a thread on here that said there is a way to adjust the amount of throttle drag/resistance, but that setting it too loose will cause the throttle to back down with vibration.
